Just as an aside. Wouldn't it be great if in COH 3 we can get a centralised wiki with all unit stats that relic actually maintains and keeps up to date? Fabulously optimistic i know.
The amount of work and testing that has gone into this stuff just by the community, over the years, is crazy. |
Nice one Rumartinez.
I'm a fan of IR-STG's but i'm not sure I really get the best out of them when i use them. I suppose their niche is that they are pretty much the one really strong medium/close range unit in the OKW arsenal that can stop elite allied SMG units from closing the distance and forcing you to back up/retreat.
The trade off is that it just feels way, way easier to give the Obers their usual LMG and vet them up at long range while bleeding enemy units from a relatively safe distance....
Surprised by the relatively weak performance of rangers. Maybe that's why their bazooka's are so good, as some small form of compensation.

Except the high reward is not really that high anymore.
Right, sorry i should of been clearer in saying perhaps that was the original idea behind them, before the many many changes.

What is a "snowball faction"? If I'm not mistaken, any faction has the possibility of snowballing. Or is this just tacitly admitting that USF can't win unless it snowballs? I am confused.
I think it might be that they get big powerspikes out of small advantages, like fast weapon upgrades and light vehicles, if they can leverage them and get them early enough. The tradeoff is that the units fall off quite hard as the game progresses, and that its a rough place to be if you fail to get any sort of advantage in the early game. High risk, high reward. |
It's history dude.
28th of October is a huge national holiday in Greece.
Oh i see... I got confused by the wall of text with no intro. Fair enough, please excuse my ignorance. |
OK. Even by your standards, this is a pretty weird thread. |
Hmm that is a strange one...
I've had it happen occasionally before but its usually quite rare. Something decides the squad is out of range or doesn't have sight, when it should be able to fire as normal... but a quick reposition usually corrects it. This is happening to you constantly and with every faction? I would be tempted to try to re-installing the game. No idea why that would happen all the time like that... |
But with a LMG42 they are.....
Cheap
Snare with good range
Can build bunkers
excellent weapon upgrade
rifle grenade (contentious but I think it's fantastic)
No side tech required.
I'd say that is really good.
if you want excellent or specialised infantry then that is available too lol.
All of this is true, but his statement is an exaggeration. Speaking purely in terms of combat performance, they become really good after vet 2 and with their lmg's. You can easily take them on with comparable allied mainlines before this point. They are not 'really good' at all stages of the game. |
lest not forget to make tier 1 and shit out a grenadier squad almost immediately and have three units ready for combat relatively quickly
if grens were dogshit infantry then the bonus would make sense, but they aren't, they are actually really good infantry at all stages of the game lmfao
should have given the sight bonus to ukf because their MG sucks as is and their infantry is completely useless until you spend the mp cost of an elite squad and the fuel of half a LV to just be able to beat grenadiers xD
They are not "really good" at all stages of the game Katukov, control your bias a little. lol. |

Interesting... Obviously, it's probably not 'peak' player numbers at this time of day, but 4v4 is indeed the highest at the time of me posting this, followed closely by 1v1... then the rest. That's so funny, I would have bet money that 1v1 or 2v2 would be the most popular by far.
I suppose people just love endless artillery and the constant chaos of the larger game modes. Lol. |
