And how did you determine who is the vocal minority and who isn't? I only see now a hand full of people yelling that they want to throw moneys on Relic for commanders that they already have paid for by buying the expansion (since they didn't plan to sell them seperately they are already paid for by us in their calculation anyway; Relic doesn't profit from this new system further either as long as they don't additionally sell the commanders for money).
And putting the blame on people who were against paid DLC that affects multiplayer gameplay in a significant way for this new system is ridiculous, because I don't recall anyone having said that commanders should unlock only randomly for a few lucky people and the rest can see with their 3 stock commanders where they go. That is alone Relic's idea.
But whatever, let's see what new info we will get to the system today and what possible changes may come in the future.
If you have 10 people spamming over and over and over, then that is a vocal minority. The DLC commander thread had so many pages and responses, but if you'd skimmed through it you'd noticed its the same people jerking over constantly on the issue.
lolcake, ssheini, jaigen-that trio is a vocal minority dictionary example, you see them in every balance thread constantly complaining at allies and screaming for buffs on axis.
You can tell that paid commanders were popular, because EVERYONE used them. It might not be liked, but it definitely was popular. The only working way of saying if DLCs are popular or not-using or not using the wallet, proved that people would buy them.
I for one would love to have a choice if I want to farm or to buy them.
Also, there is nothing wrong with DLCs affecting mp, more variety equals more strats which equals to better and more healthy meta as long as they are balanced.
Hell, people didn't even raged much at paid commanders as they did at completely retarded relic balancing of them. First batch was fun and somewhat balanced, but TA and SI ensured the rage was justified and it wasn't even because they were paid, but because they were completely imbalanced.
I'm not putting a blame here on anyone but relic for doing a step forward and a step backward at the same time.
War spoils system is an awesome thing and I welcome it, but not being able to give up a single beer for two commanders is the issue I have, because I can't and don't play as long as certain streamers, but I do have a spare change that I'd like to use to get myself some variety.
I'll wait for Noun to explain the system today and see if its something reliable with a trigger or not, but I just as well would like to have the option to get it now, I don't need all DLCs, I'm carefull with my money and I'm getting only what I know I will use.
