COH3 hard locked my PC and the computer restarted on its own.
Same happened to me btw like 4 times since release. Its basically your video driver shitting itself. Nothing too dangerous, but for sure not pleasant thing. But its a CoH3 problem, not your hardware. My friends also experienced it multiple times. Was different for every-one.
For a guy with an old nvidia his driver just restared, I have AMD and PC got hard locked with sounds still playing.
Still playing it and still thinking its a better game then CoH2 over-all.
If you disregard whole "polish" and "content" problems, which you really shouldn't because its a valid arguments why CoH2 right now is better for a majority of people, for the sake of augment, CoH3 is a good
CoH game and it represents ideas of CoH series, much better then CoH2 does.
But again, I think if I was less spoiled by QoL changes, I would've be playing vCoH right now, but not CoH2.
I'am minority tho, I dont really care about content and CoH is pretty much the single game I play in a free time. Fact here is, CoH3 gives me much less frustration playing it, then CoH2 did with its idiotic gameplay and meta.
The only few things I really hate about CoH3 is its garbage pathing and amount of cheat like bug abuses.
Also it may be my bias to coh2 and i think its irrational, but the skins in coh3 so far dont "wow" me at all.
Kinda, at this point, CoH3 skins are like CoH2 skins on release, which were nothing special. Probably so far night fighters WM was the best over-all skin.
And that's why kids you should never link up any real data\information about yourself. Forum asks for account link? Give them the fake one.
But, I guess, you got no-scoped since unlike others (me included) when it came to all male\female shit-posting, you actually took real Relic devs and started describing them.
Not like you did anything criminal, quite opposite really, but most likely it was the reason.
Wow amazing, now we know the approximate total amount of people who are subscribed to these services. Still doesn't tell us how many CoH3 consoler players are.
The leaderboards are simply not a valid source of information if we want to determine the success of something that launched 5 days ago, when you need to have played at least 10 games with a faction on top of the mentioned online-service subscription, and that is just a fact.
Why would I be on copium when I haven't touched CoH3 in a month myself?
Because this is stupid. You can safely disregard subscription, because unless owner of PS5\Xbox is exclusively SP player, you can be almost 100% sure that he\she have sub, since you wont have a quad of features without it.
As for 10 games, its valid point, but again, considering the fact that there are almost no RTSes on consoles, the fact that games are fastly passed, 5 days passed and only around 100 players played 10 games across all gamemodes? I mean, maybe its not valid, but still tells something. But as I was saying, they might as well be playing skirmishes.
Just saying that console market is small or that MP scene is somehow obscured because of subs, is just plain wrong.
You do know that multiplayer on console costs like $10 per month worldwide on both XBOX and PS, it's like a subscription... right? MP scene will never be that big on console
Your links only tell us who purchased CoH3, plays a lot automatch AND is subscribed to XBOX Live/ PS network. That's a pretty shit tool for measure if you ask me
Ok, step bro. I would've argued with counter arguments, but I really don't want to, because its a copium overdose.
It would have been smarter to just say something like idk "they are playing comp-stomps".
But for a game which supposed be live service, its a bummer, because if your customers just bought the game, finished the campaign or something and dropped the game, its bad.
On top of that, even if 99% of them are are comp-stompers, with no access to modding they will also drop the game.
And we are not even touching on the fact that PS5\Xbox barely have any proper RTSes, and non like CoH besides Iron Harvest.
Or are there a lot more people in this list with no Coh experience?
At very basic level, the better it is - the more CoH\RTS guys it has in it.
Tech part of CoH3 is great - it has the most CoH\RTS\Good titles people in it. And lead tech guy is a CoH veteran.
Sound for instance is the weakest part - had no CoH people in it what so ever and people in it aren't even close to the WW2 RTS setting.
CoH3 team generally was overbloated with people who worked on weak EA titles\Sports or with 0 experience in RTS games
Problem here is not that a lot of people arent CoH veterans, thats not the case any more. Problem here is that a majority of people aren't even an RTS devs or nor have experience with anything close to a WW2 game and they were led by people who had no idea what they were doing because again, lack of experience.
Thank you for the overview. Not sure if it "explains everything" - but it definately shows the lack of competency and potentially dedication for the franchise in leading positions. But most of them are gone now, correct?
Well Aera posted list of the ones who is supposed to be gone somewhat earlier in a thread.
By explains everything, I mean, you can clearly see how experience of people in the leading roles, be it animation\sound\art influenced the final product. I mean you cant expect beefy hollywood sounds, if the lead sound designer was working on a realistic sports games.
Or movement animations for instance, compared to previous CoHs they are super smooth, with models slowly turning and so on. Leading animators, were working on a games majority of which had similar smooth movement. One of them at least.
Same with art director. His previous works usually were a bright, very saturated games.
Or why such emphasis was put on a single player, lead producers mostly worked on SP games.
Of course its super simplified, but you got the idea. Personal experience have a huge influence, especially when a supervisors have no experience with a subject what so ever.
