The close air support one is crazy good now. Before it was basically useless because of how long it took to arrive, but now you just pull it in from the close edge of the map and it'll do a lot of work for you. CAS now perfect commander
Seems pretty situational. Clearing a weapon team every minute or 2 sounds good, but it's a slow pace and most games you can get more mileage out of other stuff. I guess you can get lucky with it sometimes though
Don't worry about it because losing games now means you get easier opponents in future, at least until you're better than them. Also no matter how good you get you'll always lose games so it's nothing to be ashamed of.
In addition to being highly skilled some of the players with insane W/L ratios only play at certain times (certain patches). If you play for fun and want to play any faction any time then best not to compare with those stats
I think it's more a problem with forward retreat points rather than the units themselves. There's not enough downside to mass blobbing. In each engagement if the blob is successfully countered it mass retreats with no great loss of time. If the blob is not countered it will be hugely effective in terms of dps. Overall it's a very rewarding and safe way to play, despite also being the easiest.
I like the design, and there are plenty of other factions to play when you get bored of the play-style.
I think it's true that small changes to units could allow more diversity within the faction, for example vet3 bonus for scrips (base unit is fine early game), more defined role for some units such as penal, and basically anything that encourages using core troops rather than massive support.
Tech and Doctrine choices are trade-offs like many others in the game, albeit with more resounding consequences.
Van Voort nailed it. Any time it's alive and not being utilized it's harming its owner. And since it doesn't accumulate vet there's no pressing need to chase it down... if it wants to disengage from the fight then that's great.
Aye if the matchmaking works properly (enough people online) then random is a great way to play. It's a huge if though.
I think the problem is that usually you can get away with an early truck, and it's pretty rewarding for the risk. It's definitely not just bad players doing it. So people will keep doing it and just ragequitting the ones that don't work out.
