Freinds steam wont update

Really pleased about the new patch and my pal who is not a member of the forums game will not update on steam he rebooted but it just wont happen and now he cant play online or gain xp. anybody else having this or know the solution?

try to close anything that blocks ports like peerblock for example

1) close steam
2) delete clienregistry.blob in steam directory
retsart pc
turn off antivurs
start steam
start game

i had same problem with steam, i didn't know what was wrong so i compeltely reinstalled Steam lol, but this fooking peerblock was blocking Steam Kappa

I've started Steam and closed it every five minutes... and the download has begun after a few operations.

Both my brother and myself had this issue last night. Resolved itself after restarting Steam and waiting a while.

veryfy intengrity of game chache. if that does not work delete the game and redownload.

If you already have game on english: change it to another language, close, then change it back to english. Voila! Update downloading..

Verifying the cache wont help (tried it) and redownloading the game is entirely unnecessary. This problem resolves itself. Restarting Steam might help.
