Small arms accuracy DPS and range

Hey everyone!

Quick question regarding infantry dps. Cruzz and a couple others stated that accuracy translates into a 1:1 dps increase, unlike cooldown or reload.
Is this 1:1 ratio for accuracy true for all ranges from 0-35?
Will, say a Vet 3 Shock Trooper squad, which gains +40% accuracy, do 40% more damage than a Vet 0 Shock at ALL ranges?
Is this is true until 100% effective accuracy (including target cover and received accuracy) is reached?
Can some squads surpass 100% effective accuracy at melee range, hitting every bullet and making extra accuracy worthless?

Thanks!

Well, in theory no - practically yes. Say, you have units shooting at each other with a total probability of 1 to hit - accuracy boosts would naturally not increase the dps. However this rarely happens and when it happens the result is usually neglectable (Obers K98k with vet on close).

Thanks for the reply! So except for vet Obers K98k in melee, any other squads? Like what about said Shocks or basic mainline infantry?

EDIT:
Just checked the stats. So highly depends on the target and its vet/cover, whether probability of 1 to hit is exceeded. Shocks near accuracy is 0.82, with vet then 1.148.

The accuracy applies at all ranges. Shock troopers' mid and far range becomes 40% more accurate at vet 3, just as their close range does. This directly affects their damage output.

Cooldown, aim time, (wind-down on a few units like panthers), and reload affect the rate of fire the unit's weapon does. They indirectly affect damage output.

DPS is an extremely poor way to measure a units effectiveness. For tanks especially that kill each other in 4ish hits, they really can't be measured by damage per second.

For infantry squads, you can only calculate the DPS on individual entities, not the whole squad, nor can that damage be necessarily directed towards a specific entity. For this reason, DPS can fluctuate WILDLY. As models drop, as their target's models drop, and once you introduce weapon upgrades that change hands as models drop... Not to mention sight and shock blockers, squad members in and out of cover, and how some infantry weapons scatter. Then there's vet...

Snipers are an exception but they don't really do damage so much as kill models. DPS doesn't work for them in the same way it doesn't work for tanks.
