Should OKW shrek be moved to another teir/unit?

Schreck should be moved to other unit - obers or sturms, removed completely or moved to a commander as a doctrial upgrade like ptrs to cons.

Volks should cost more but be more effective agains inf, there should be an option to give them an close combat package with mp 40 and mp 44 and they should have panzerfaust or german anti-tank rifle - Panzerbüchse.

Giving best infantry AT weapon to a cheap core tanky 5 men T0 unit with 5 vet was a bad design from the beginning.

With %100 fuel income now, as well as the beastly power of the puppy, the shreck upgrade should be removed from OKW. Enough fuel to field an early puma.

Or replace it with PzB, I would love to see it in auto match.

Absolutely not. Awful idea.

If so, then OKW must get an AT pak 40 style or/and panzerfaust on one of the HQ units. Raketen simply cannot comply the role of a serious AT gun in order to stop the quick movement of early light vehicles. For example, microing 2 (270 mp!!!) raketens > microing 1-2 M3s filled with flame engies => insta win for allied side. The low survivability rate of raketen crews it's another serious problem.

OKW is supposed to be a late war faction and you are asking for a nearly pre war AT weapon? Even in '43 I doubt germans were still using panzer busche.

And?

Soviets have a lot of pre-war, early war equipment in CoH2.

Also some units of volks moved from Denmark to the front in 44 still had PzB in their equipment.

Exceptions don't make rules. Like I said, OKW was conceived as a late war faction. Soviet faction is supposed to cover 41 - 45 period. This is reflected in Soviet faction's arsenal. Examples: you have T34/76 and T34/85. PTRS and IS2. SU-76 and SU-85. And so on.

I also think it's a bad design to have shrecks as the best infantry based AT weapon available to volks as cheap, 5 men squad, with 5 level of vet. Those were some very good suggestion to lock shrecks behind other tiers/upgrades, or making it doctrinal upgrade like ptrs. or moving shrecks to other units, like obers or sturm but if it's gonna be sturms, it should be designed accordingly not to just change the meta again from volks shreck blobs to sturmpio shreck blobs (well for ex. 1 shreck for sturmpios instead of giving them 2 shrecks).

It will be a great change and will definitely decrease the tendency of blobing for OKW players, and forces them into getting more combined arms instead.

Schrecks to sturmpios is a bad idea. Imagine minesweeper, flamethrower, schrecks. Thats too much.
Maybe make schrecks doctrinal and switch them with the MG34. Make the MG34 non doctrinal. To compensate give volks the faust ability.

you mean combined arms like USF? :D a-move forward the blob to berlin? Anyway next week I got my goliath to punish those blobs :romeoMug:

I'd love to see one solution.

Lower Obers cost to 350MP.
Give them 2 upgrades:
1 - 120 ammo for 2 Schrecks.
2 - 120 ammo for LMG34.

(100 ammo could work as well, since they are las tier unit)

In that way, you couldnt spam schrecks and you would receive highly specialized and elite units which could be hard AI or hard AT.




This is a nice one. Give volks LMG34 upgrade

He was talking of putting the choice of obers getting LMG 34 OR 2 shreks for 120 ammo upgrade and you quote him to say "This is a nice one. Give volks LMG34 upgrade"

TBH, Volksgrenadier Shrek should be much less accurate than Panzergrenadier and Stormer counterpart. This way it's a defensive AT weapon and not the a-move tool it is now.

IMO RPG launchers ingame accuracy should be from highest to lowest:

Stormer Shrek
Bazooka/Panzgren Shrek equal accuracy
Steep drop-off
Volks Shrek
PIAT (lol)



There are PIATs in this game?!?! Who knew?
