Again, don't expect 1 GREN SQUAD with an Lmg to stand up to paras on their own. That makes no sense. If paras had some stupidly high reinforcement Cost(like 40) how would USF have manpower at all? The reason obers are OP is not Their DPS or anything Imoo, but the fact that they are relatively cheap to field since their LMG IS FREE and OKW IS NEVER SHORT OF MANPOWER

I know ost has glaring issues against USF but this isn't really one of them,and blobbing is a problem that all factions struggle with not just ost.

support your LMG Grens with a HMG. I doubt a U.S. player has the resources and manpower to buy tons of m1919s,, have a bunch of rifles for smoke to counter your MG,BUY smoke,, buy multiple paras, BLOB, have a light vehicle,and still win unless you just have bad luck with your positioning, or maybe bad skill with your positioning.


also, firing on the move with lmg is exaggeration since like someone said its Wayyyy less accurate when firing that way.

I mean... 3-4 Rifles, Lt or Cpt before paras arrive.
Drop 2 squads (which is not blob) and you will lose pop cap for Shermans.

Wasting vetted Rifles for unvetted paras is not good option but even then, you have to spend tons of MP to replace rifles with paras so again, how do you blob with paras?

Not to mention that you need 120ammo, which means 360ammo for paras blob.

Obers scale better and don't pay munitions for their LMG. More utility as well. They come later in tech though.

In short, Pgrens start off as very good medium range troops who are glass cannons, they out dps Paras and have the option of upgrading to shreks which changes their role. They can be somewhat map/context dependent due to their range profile, but i'd argue that is good design.

Paras are good vanilla, and really shine with their AI upgrades, especially the LMG's because that weapon profile in Coh2 generally speaking, requires less micro and tactical thought. 2 LMG's on a durable platform for 120 munitions and 380 mp is a headache to face, like multiple Gren/ober/whatever squads with LMGs once they hit critical mass.





Comparing DPS,nice.Omitted just one key fact there tiger.Pzgrens are 4 men self-squadwipe specialists with 42 reinforce compared to 6 men and 28 reinforce.

Any lost rifle squads are replaced by paras.2 paras u can build without.Support with jacksons/sherman.And ofc u have daddy thunderbolt to come calling when u need it.You don't need sherman with paras mostly because ur AI is so good.

Right,so ost neither eats the cake nor has the cake.Other 3 have it all.Great,asymmetric balance.
Not only doesn't have any elite infantry,doesn't have any artillery either.

This is weird since best tactic vs OKW is rush for a Sherman and another Sherman, and another..

How USF can get so many ammo? 3x120 + P47 is a huge amount.

Killing your own vetted (2-3) rifles to replace them with Paras without upgrade (you can't afford for so many upgrades if you want to have P47 avaible) is suicide.

Obers will win agaist Paras so I don't see this mighty AI power.

Keep in mind that blobbing with Paras without fast Sherman is something what OKW would like to see -> Luchs -> Dead paras.

Volks get nerf next patch,so its only temporary.
Does the poster realize is OKW is of no use to ostheer which can't fight para/1919 blobs with LMG grens?The biggest bleed is in losing units to wipe and reinforce.

Replace any lost rifles with paras.At 28 reinforce they will pay themselves very well.

If i wanted to rage i could open a dozen threads on each and every shitty unit ostheer has.

I don't have to speak for me.The tournament results and ostheer's win percentage speaks for itself.Also the fact that most of the players were so afraid of facing usf if they picked ost,they didn't bother.Thats what it has come down to.

Getting 2 paras to go with ur 3 rifles plus an officer isn't unfeasable AT ALL.Then if u lose rifle squad replace para.Since paras are very cheap to reinforce and don't wipe MP pressure is not as much as u claim at all.Gretaest mp pressure is the squadwipes it lays down on ost inf.USF rifle-para blob will smash lmg gren blob - no 2 ways about it.You simply don't have any other options....gren..live or die.

Yep blobfest,and para 1919 rules supreme once blobbed.
I give a good chuckle when i hear people educating on the forum,L2 flank with pzgrens.

Or he was beating you with 3 rifles and held out for paras
