This patch is fricken amazing! Big changes in a really good way.

Good job Relic, really. You have put all the doubters out there to shame. Great changes, my enthusiasm for this game has reached new heights.

I have a feeling the JT was nerfed only because the ISU did...

The JT nerf is actually a huge buff to all allied armor. Previously, a JT was so scary that you'd think twice before moving your tanks towards the enemy.

Now the sherman blobs will just roll in, take a shot, go 'meh' and then keep rolling :)

The ISU and JT have very different roles and thus different impact on a game. Applying an identical mechanic to both of them seems wrong.


Also, as Cythia said, this patch notes is not complete :

"This Beta content is only a portion of what will be going into the final October Update!"

Paratrooper lieutenant/captain bonuses removed, accuracy bonus at vet2 nerfed back from 1.4 to 1.25*
Stuart shell shock lost deflection damage (50% --> 0%), reload speed slowed (1.5 --> 1.75), scatter decreased
Pack Howitzer AOE decreased from 6 to 4, scatter reduced
Raketenwerfer can be suppressed
.50 cal vet2 penetration nerfed to be same as vet0 gun (1.5 --> 1 far)
EZ8 400/145 --> 380/140, Armor 215 --> 200
Ostruppen given 1.2 armor
Sherman smoke wind up/wind down removed, reload shortened and scatter reduced.

*Accuracy bonus nerf does not apply to Recon paratroopers


Thanks for sifting through this. Will be interesting to see if some of these are unintended or they just forgot to mention.

I wonder if that Sherman smoke change means it can be used on the move now without stopping the tank.

BIGGEST ALLIES PATCH EVER.

Most retarded change: Jeep reverted. Pak40 nerf.
Going to spam USF and Soviet 1v1 from now on.

OKW 1v1 was dead in previous patch in my eyes, even more dead in da future.

I played already a game with BAR on my riflemen. They seem to do quite good now! Need more games to test though.

Cover seems to work way better now, none of the models get out of green cover like it happened every time.

No more USF HMG circling around when moving or retreating.

First game in BETA and received 2 war spoils :megusta:

No wonder why this is happening:



Every allies player is excited today. They also gave us all the commanders to try:

Sounds exciting. I shall actually attempt playing USF again later to see if the slight adjustments made life better.
Anyways, the bug fixes are a huge welcome. Hopefully retreat is fixed and stupid things like cancelled retreats and suppressed on retreat will never happen again. Balancing in moderation is what moves things forward.

No, they're just all the commanders available right now. You can use them all with a countdown of 150hours.

I don't think I noticed it before but deflected shots sound really great now, you can hear your tank failing to penetrate the enemy armor even when you're a bit far from the action.

BAR buff make them feel OK now. I guess the best players could say their word but for now they seem a viable option.

I only see one issue with this... when you click on a "target" and it goes out of range the unit will start to follow. So you must click stop after each attack when the enemy unit goes out of range. Nice fix to that could be a "lock down" like the Marder III from vCOH. Without a cooldown to escape bombing runs.

The rest is just #L2P #adapt

Otherwise patch looks good so far.

I deffinatley like the pack howtizer change direction it wiped squads or missed too much though it is still dumb that it does 80 damage vet 0, and 160 damage at vet 2

Also don't understand why paras can't have 1.4 which is exactly the same bonus accuracy for obers and Grens, they have changed this value like 4 times and i don't understand why

Edit:Hell even conscripts have 1.4 accuracy bonuses

ez8 i think is a nerf too, people don't get it b/c it has 640 hp and is too slow, while still being relieably penned by paks, though paks were nefed, so ig it will be better in game


This patch is pretty good though, not alot of changes, but virtually all of them are in a good direction with comments on things they do need to look at :thumb:
Unfortunatley OKW may be too far down the weird hole to ever be satisfying to a majority of players(be it balance, playstyle, design)

2 thoughts:

Biggest changes since game released and a lot of it looks great so thats good.

The movment, weapon tracking and infantry responsiveness as well as predictabilty of buildings is straight out of coh and people love it.. seems like any change that brings the game closer to COH mechanics wise is a step in the right direction guess the old pros were right all along.

So congrats on actually making changes butshame on ypu for ruining them a in the first place.
