Personally, the last few months have really tested my patience with the original CoH so I've started branching out and playing other games and really enjoying a select few. Why doesnt everyone post up a few of their favorites that other should try while we wait :)

My Top Games of 2012:
Far Cry 3 - Fantastic game and story. I dont often finish FPS games but this one kept my attention.
Max Payne 3 - Another great story with a really fun engine and some spectacular graphics.

Biggest Disappointment Game of 2012:
Diablo 3

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Top Game 2012 is Arma2 CO and I'm not talking about Dayz or Wasteland.

Disappointment of 2012 is probably Far Cry 3 because I didn't buy many games that year. They could of done so much more with that game, continue to develope features. I haven't finished the game yet though. It's not a bad game at all but I was expecting so much more.

i love how dayz and other mods have really brought more attention to the flashpoint/arma series... got all of the games on release or shortly after... all of them are awesome and deserved all this attention earlier.

Yeah true, ArmA is amazing. Started playing because of DayZ at first, then switched to wasteland. Now, we're playing that actual game, and having alot of fun with it. Realistic battles, intense action and the possibilities are endless. Because you can 'script' battles in the editor, and make it as crazy as you want to :P

Apart from RTS games and the odd FPS game I'm a big fan of indie games and other games that doesn't just rely on 'looks'.

Some great (and cheap) games I played 2012/13 so far has been

  • FTL: Faster then Light, it has close to an endless replayability
  • LIMBO, fun and dark puzzle type game
  • Bindings of Isaac, by far my favorite, replayability is great and it's just so... strange.
  • Lone Survivor, as the name suggests it's part survival, part puzzle game I guess you could say.
  • Deadlight, zombie apocalypse sidescroller, a bit short though.
  • Castle Crashers, hack n' slash, great fun in coop with your buddies, I've had it on xbox for a long time but also got it for PC now when it got released.

I've also played some bigger titles like XCOM: Enemy Unknown (the older titles are still better imo though) and Borderlands 2 (yet to play it through with Tommy, we just don't have time after casting).
Throw in a couple of hundreds of hours of DayZ with WmD aswell :) (before it got overpopulated by hackers ruining the persistancy aspect completely.)

Borderlands 2, Black Ops 2 (surprisingly a step in the right direction after BO1 and MW3), Day of Defeat: Source, Dota 2.

Ha I remember when I was in a clan called SAS for that Day of Defeat Source game. Man those were the days...

Other games I have played apart from COH recently were;

Metro 2033 - This game has been in my steam library for god knows how long. A friend recommend that I should give it ago and I can't thank him enough. Such a great story line and atmosphere all the way through. I'm looking for to metro last light when it comes out =].

Anno 2070 - Just a really great city builder game set in the future. The graphics look excellent.

Arma 2 (DayZ) - I've played this on and off but it's still a great game. Fighting for survival and your always on the look out for danger. Also it's such a blast to play it with friends. Definitely going to be getting the stand alone game when it comes out.

I'm going to a modelers shop tomorrow, so in the spirit of CoH2, I'll be building this while I wait.
