Hey, im having trouble with my objects not displaying snow skins.
I did change the default_skin in the .info and the use_ice in the .option file, but:
The .info file always changes back to default_skin="" after i save the map so I have to set it to "winter" every time before editing it, but more importantly:
Only a few objects look snowy and not as snowy as on other maps.
Lets take the houses and civilian vehicles on kholodny ferma as an example: They actually have snow on them. My civilian vehicles dont have any snow and the buildings are only a little bit white on the roofs. I even imported the kholodny ferma atmosphere settings.
Yes but I dont think that this is what people are having the most trouble with and are speaking about when refering to input lag.
It was still an annoying issue, that has improved now, no doubt. But the true input lag that destroys the game experience for some players is something different
A huge argument against your theory is that Relic is refusing to fix input lag (/lag in general): The biggest downside of anything bigger than 1v1s. A developer which focuses on those gamemodes should actually try to make them playable.
Btw: Team games are nowhere near as bad as people claim them to be.
Im usually not a 3v3,4v4 player but these modes have improved significantly compared to vCoH. Saying that they are not competitive is odd.
With adjusted maps (-> ressources) 4v4 could easily be the perfect gamemode
