Shocks must be the reason to most of your troubles, but the incoming patch should fix this, since shocks will be at 2 cps and could also be nerfed.
This way you should have a fair chance in the early game and transition better to the later phases of the game.
We will see about that. They got moved to 1cp for a reason, you know... They are the most expensive unit in game and if nerfed they will not be desired this much anymore.... which will bring us to the beginning - hundreds of cons running across the map throwing hundreds of molotovs and at nades......and later hundreds of whining posts of how OP soviets are.... No good. |
Someone used 6 SU76 spam against me this afternoon, I just call a tiger, a Stuka, one Pak, a sniper cloaked for sight, ends up killing them all, very easily.
It's all depends on micro. Someone spams tanks and makes a suicidal attack hoping to not meet significant resistance, and someone uses blobs wisely, flanking, hitting from behind, cutoffs etc.
Just like it was stated above - SU76 is a very situational weapon that could be very lethal in hands of a skilled player. |
*edit*^^^^
Panther was not upgunned and I had a cons squad throwing AT nade. However, there were two pio squads making an attempt to fix it but I pushed them away with artillery barrage. Just another example of SU76 multitasking is different situations. |
Yeah, I saw some other player building like 7-9 of them and taking down Panthers and such
I killed an upgunned Panther with my SU76, I had a guard squad buttoning and spotting while Su76 was throwing some nice punches from far. Its range is 60, this tank is awesome against any vehicle in game but only if it is NOT the main target (same for SU85 pretty much) |
I use penals in conjunction with two cons squads for reinforcement and flanking with molotovs. It works just fine. Depending on game play I either go for a sniper clown car or save up for early shocks into SU76 ( big fan of Terror Tactics here) |
And yeah, I'm not sure if any1 told you yet but you will need a new OS for your comp. windows 7 64bit will add up another 100 dollars to total cost, unless there is some crazy sale going on that I'm not aware of. |
Here are the specs for my new rig, most the parts were suggested by D3adshot and Bud:

That comes out to around $650 (DVD drive not included). On that budget+build you have just enough money to pick up a R9 270x, GTX 660ti or GTX 760 for your GPU.
I agree with this build. I got the same mobo, CPU, PSU and RAM, the only difference is the case and videocard. Mine is RadeonHD 7870 2gb MHz edition that I got about a year ago for 160$
And boy, I can tell you that with this build you will be able to run CoH2 very very smooth on high. Note that I didn't say ultra but you still enjoy all the features. This build will cost you at around $700. Get it on newegg and sign for payment plan. Pay it off in six months with 0% APR @ around 120 bucks a month. Very simple.
So take this advice and good luck!!!) |
Not a good idea...I don't even know where to start and how to explain why. Just a horrible idea |
Two or three Kv1s can take on a panther
and this will take forever because of its weak 76mm gun. Germans will have plenty of time to react |
Just like van Voort mentioned in post above, in 3vs3 and 4vs4 the battlefield is covered with team weapons by mid game, so you can just crew and reinforce them with cheap cons. In this case, you can go T1. It largely depends on someone's play style, but I personally prefer T1 over T2. Penals+2 cons with molotovs followed by early shocks go like a knife through hot butter, I definitely secure one of two fuel and VP which helps to prevent OH from spamming like a dozen of tanks later in game. T1 requires a lot of good micro.
If you are planning to get 2 T34-85 then definitely build T1. You already get a mortar with this commander, and guards benefit better from snipers rather then team weapons. But again, this all depends on your play style. I barely skip buildings. I prefer going for early SU76 supported by shocks, and then SU85 to fight first P IV, and later depending on situation - either Katyusha or saving fuel for call ins. |
