how do you go back to the regular steam version? Think I'm done with the beta. I get like 2 games over 3 hours because no one is playing. |
all versions are broken, so just get everybody on one version and then fix.
If Steam version was perfect (then you wouldn't need a beta anyway), I could understand the argument of testing first before switch.
The beta does need more work, but at least it's close. There's still random crashes and sync error, flashing "News" and "Friends" for no reason. Also weird stuff with the leaderboard look up. It gets to 48 then shows the top players again, but the headliner says 49- whatever.
I think one more little patch to fix all you can, and then switch everyone. Hopefully it will happen this week. They've been pretty quick with the updates.
But yeah, it's a joke when the feedback forum has like 4 posts with generic things like it doesn't work. Not sure how helpful that will be to them.
I do hope they reset everyone's stats. Not fair for the beta testers who have many disputes because connections were not stable.
And I really, really, really hope they make "random" be just US and Wehr. There are so few players already, I'd like to be able to play either side and not have to guess which side will get me faster game. |

What about keeping snipers pretty much the same, but increasing re-cloak timer? Multiply these by factors of 3, and sniper usage must be done more conservatively.
I'm starting to think this is the way. We're maybe over complicating the issue.
sniper is a fragile unit already so a jeep or bike can't mean insta suicide kill. But at same time, need to find a way to penalize greedy, sloppy sniper play.
I think increasing the recloak time is an easy solution. 1st shot relatively quick recloak. Subsequent shots and it increases exponentially. Especially if you can factor in group snipers as magnifying the recloak times.
Maybe add in group negative zeal for small arms fire at short distance to penalize sloppy play of getting snipers too close. |

Yeah, a lot of people are whining and crying about every little thing. I paid $10 for the game 3 years ago. I think I got a pretty good value off of it. I mean really. I wish all my purchases were so successful.
Of course things should be better and more perfect, etc. etc. but welcome to the real world. Especially in this case with all the bankruptcy, etc.
It's a miracle we have anything to play. Believe me, I've gone back and forth and cried about things that should be fixed, but really, the fact we have anything is great.
As mentioned by many people, provide clear feedback about what's wrong with the beta and hopefully they can fix it.
I played almost 1000 games on the steam version, yet a lot of people are saying how broken the game is. Really? I guess I dreamed those 1000 games. Yeah, I had a drop hack every once in a while or I couldn't see the rank in lobby. The tragedy.
Thank God the people at Relic and Sega have thick skin, because if it was me I would have said Cya later a long time ago with all the bitching and moaning. |
I think of all the great games I've seen on TFN and replay packs. I don't think this many changes are needed. Many strategies are still viable, and in the end, for the most part, the best player wins. Occasionally there is a RNG type game, but this balances out over long run.
I think if the bugs are fixed (i.e. M10, stag, retreat, remanning MGs, pakes, etc.) and negative zeal is added to group snipers, that's good enough.
The community is already small enough, splintering them off into beta, non beta, and mods will soon wreck whatever little we have. |
I mentioned this earlier, 1v1 sniper is not the problem. It's the blobs. 2 different problems.
1v1 100%, I think it's not a big deal.
The problem is this. One side starts spamming snipers, now you're 2v1 or 3v1. Good luck. You CS, only to get CS back instantly.
The solution for the spamming has to be outside of CS. It has to be a combination of slower movement, negative zeal, reduced recloak, increased reveal by inf, increased damage from vehicles and inf at short and medium distance.
Recon spam here we come. Sure you can retreat, now US snipers go to work until your sniper comes back on, and guess what, recon again. Only solution I see to this is since T3 is natural counter to AB, then officer should be given huge reveal radius to offset. |
collecting replays, are you able to watch the beta replays? I am not.
