I think they didn't implement that to CoH2 because of the commander system.
There are preset loadouts for the factions that could be used though. My guess is that they didn't because there were just 2 factions in the game to begin with
Overall balance wise, I'd like better consistency of time-appropriate equipment. I remember it was said somewhere that Soviets have inferior technology because the game originally was focused on the 1941 invasion. However, even Ostheer have late-war stuff available to them, such as Panzershreck, Stg44, later versions of P4, Panthers, etc.
Interaction of historical accuracy and game balance is very inconsistent even in WFA. British and German tanks is a topic one could talk forever.
Additionaly, there should be better balance of doctrinal/non-doctrinal units and equipment. IMO doctrine should be more of a optional flavor/support and not an essential necessity for all factions
welcome to the brit faction, which get all the nice tools from every faction..in most cases in better version.
*cough* indirect fire *cough*
Non-doc they have only mortar pits, which are now nerfed, and arty flares, which is slow, although powerful.
Even doctrinal, Sexton is not nearly as good as howitzer or Priest. Land matress seems very good but with imo questionable tradeoff of being crew based
Does it matter where exactly the grenade lands inside the building if the building is large and models are clumped together on one side? Or they are treated as one, undivided entity and it doesn't matter? Is there a difference between flame grenades and regular ones in this regard?
Does clumping affect the probability of being hit by small arms fire? If units are clumped together or if there is an enfilading fire, does that mean more small arms fire shots will hit? Or do projectiles aim towards specific model and if they miss, they do not hit anything else?
Using AutoHotkey, you can create a script that only rebinds the keys while a window of specific application is open, for example RelicCoH2.exe
The scripting interface may be hard for common windows user but try it, these scripts are very powerfull when it comes to changing your user experience, much better than mere hotkey changer that is implemented in most games.
Well, I wouldn't go that far but I'd make strong indirect fire require more doctrinal commitment or just have greater trade-off with other tech branches
Idk about buffs but I think that sturmpionners as starting unit is a quite strong. It wins 1v1 100% against any unit, requires opponent to draw more forces to deal with them, while mobile kubel captures everything
