The change in playerpool sizes and the activity in 1v1 speak for themselves go through steam charts and compared before and after that patch!
Yeah, I know most people prefer the fast-paced game, being older and slower, I preferred the old game

The very brief Grenpocalpyse when G43 grens became miniguns on wheels. I beat Cataclaw once in 1v1 that patch
Also there was an early patch where MG42s were so uber powerful you could literally just spam them and attack move across the map.
I disagree the weapons profile patch in 2014 saved the game, it just changed it. Before it was a game of maneuver and army composition, after that it has become much more about fast multitasking and fast reflexes, where faster micro would beat maneuvers and tactics that might take a while to execute. Since lethality was increased, it has generally been better to go for shorter maneuvers and blobbing became more powerful because players quickly learned that the way to win was not by maneuver but by wiping units. The best way to wipe units is to focus fire on weak squads with a blob. The best counter to that is faster reflexes (fast retreats).

4950 4v4 players and 50 2v2 and 1v1 players can't be wrong.
This is toxic? This is a bunch of nerds with no life or game skills quoting stats to each other.
Who gives two shits?

Nah, Ostheer is easier because of the hard counters.
US players be like, if I don't outmicro this guy, I'm gonna lose. And they're right.

Retreat at half health, higher if you're getting mortared.
Don't bother trying to attack with half health units, unless you are stalling in green cover (like weak LMG grens).
Use tac map more, and hotkey units.
And just instantly retreat from a fight you won't win. Almost everyone but top 1% wants to do a little damage and stick around but the fact is if you're outnumbered you will take more MP loss than you will inflict, so it's pointless over the course of a game to do that. One of the few exceptions is units in green cover that can be retreated with only minor damage (ie, a stormpio getting charged with full health, you should be able to trade effectively there.)

Why is it that reviving old threads, or "necroing" as the cool kids say, is akin to child molestation in the eyes of the chattering nabobs of the Internet?
I love when interesting threads get revived personally.

I really disagree with the Soviet sniper change.
I know it's a pain, but it's counterable. The 1v1 game is going to turn into COH1 where every game was won or lost on the counter snipe. Standardizing snipers vs garrisons is another major stupid change. The sniper game in COH1 killed that game for most people, including me. You didn't have the sniper micro of a top player? Kthxbye, you have no chance to succeed at the game. I don't want to play Company of Snipers 2.
A lot of the other changes are fine, especially to mortars, but really this game is going symmetrical, which is just lazy game design.
Generally, if you like Ostheer, well, here's your patch. Ostheer finally OP.

I'd love to see the SU-76's vet looked at, and the King Tiger.
The KT is really pretty lackluster when compared to getting maybe multiple PZiVs and/or Panther. I always find multiple tanks to be better than one big one as you force your opponent to make more targeting choices, some of which he will likely get wrong. A KT is just an excuse to mark target, select all, attack. Every time I bring one out (usually only because I screwed up and had my Schwerr destroyed) I am very disappointed.
There should be a reasonable chance of an OKW unit attaining vet 5 in a long game (> 1 hour). Getting vet 2 on a KT is a major achievement right now given how late it shows up.

This is more of a competitive community on this website, so I wouldn't expect much feedback of any kind really, as mods are not meant for competition.
That said, on the rare occasion I look at custom games there are at least a half dozen different mods being played, but I don't know where these people hang out to discuss mods. Steam groups maybe?

Anyone have any good ones? Where you win vs double sov or Brit/Sov?
US is easier I find. They're good but the micro skill needed to manage multiple Scotts and all that high-reinforce cost infantry is still worse than for Brits or Sov so generally you can take advantage of any mistakes easier.
I cannot figure out how to beat decent Brits though, with those 5 man squads, backed by at guns, backed by that flak tank. Soviet is obviously just a cheesefest, but if you can flank a few maxims or get a sniper, it's manageable. If you don't you lose. But at least I know it's theoretically possible and how to beat Sov. Brit is just still too big a problem for me, OKW infantry is just too weak imo. Last game, I had stuka, had puma, had KT. Basically I Find I just have nothing to flank with or break their lines that's worth a damn. Stuka is next to useless, puma same vs at guns and the at rifles. I just don't get it. I can manage with Ostheer against top 100, I can't even beat rank 200+ people anymore with OKW.
