Economy rules the day, people would still build the t34/76 to save. Not to mention the KV beats a WHER pz 4 when it's no vet and you let them sit plucking away. You have to be pretty thick to let a KV1 get a P4 as it can't chase you that's for sure. Once vet comes about the KV remains what it is, a sponge that kills infantry.

A KV1 with vet put's out an insanely huge amount of DPS. At vet 3 it has a 2.4 second reload. In the context of the current meta is it's well worth the price (other than a useless vet 1 ability) to beat out PIV's 1v1.
The KV1 isn't bad at chasing either IIRC it's the fastest heavy tank in the game at a top speed of 5.3 which is only 1 less than a T34/76 or PIV.

I love the KV 1, it's probably the coolest tank in the game. I just wish it was in more commanders.

KV1 is a decent tank. IT'S NOT a good chaser nor DPS. It's a "medium" brawler.
KV1: vet3 it has a 3.33s reload 120/100/80
T76: vet3 it has a 3.89s reload 120/100/80
PIV: Vet3 it has a 4.1s reload 120/110/100
KV1: 270/165 armor 800HP 420mp/145f
PIV: 234/117 armor 640HP 350mp/135-125f (either OKW or vet3 OH)
You also forgot that the acceleration is crap on the KV1.
KT/KV8/ISU/Ele: 1.4
Tiger: 1.5
KV1: 1.6
IS2: 1.7
PIV: 2.1
Sherman: 2.2
T3476: 2.3
PV: 2.4
T3485: 2.5
M10: 3.2

-Good against PIV.
-Bad against anything else: Stug, Panther, Tiger, Ele, JP, KT, JT.
-It doesn't require tech so you'll rely on Su76 + KV1 mostly. If you need T4 it would be a dead unit. You'll rather have several T34-76 or if possible T34-85s
-You can't crush nor chase infantry.
You won't outnumber, flank, outdps the enemy armor. KV1 is a good allround sponge. Don't try to sell it as anything else.

good post.
kv1 from my experience is abyssal. the only reason to get is because you can forgo t4 and have a battle tank. and kv1 is not a heavy tank. Tiger or IS2 or ISU is heavy. KV1 is just a tough cousin of t34/76. and having 1 t34/76 have a distinct advantage over 1 kv1. apart from what elchino7 pointed out, ram is a very good tool when punishing an over extended tank or even when chasing for that one last shot.
145 fu is way too much for kv1 i think, comparing to t34. getting two KV1 will cost you 290 fuel. with that fuel, you can tech to T4 and get two t34/76 and still have 10fu left. not to mention having t4 unlocked means you have more options.

I'm not trying to sell it as a chaser, I'm just pointing out it's not an awful tank. Sure it's weak to dedicated AT (like most brawlers are) but your accusing me of something I'm not saying. It's got decent DPS at vet 3, and it's not the slowest tank in the game (especially compared to some others...)
Iv just had good experiences with it in the past, if others can't find success with it I'll admit it probably needs help :/

Both bold statements makes it look like the KV1 is way better than it really is using false information. That's why i'm remarking it.
When you name stats, you better be 90% sure. I was impressed at 2.4s, that's why i took a look.
2.4 =/= 3.33
If you put thing like "insanely huge amount of DPS", that's hyperbole. Good Rof but bad pen isn't equal to great DPS against tanks.

KV1 max speed is 5.1
If we consider the KV1 a "heavy" then the Panther is the fastest. I'm gonna make a simple comparison as to WHY it's not an AGILE tank.
-Sturmtiger has the same acceleration.
-The ambulance has a faster top speed but we don't see it roaming around the map cause it has a 1.3 acceleration.
Now you realise that max speed isn't a good as it sounds.

Kv1 on windustry would be K, aswell it will make sense since it was produced in mass like T34/76
