Pre-play comments: I'm out on travel so I won't be able to play this patch until the weekend. Over all, many drastic changes. They look good.

A bit hmm on the SU76. A very expensive glass cannon now.

I hope this is their first take on artillery.

PG correction is excellent. No more terminator squads.

Ostwind is going to rock socks now. It's the new KV8.

KV1 may be spammable.

Mixed feelings on the Panther.

Must play soon. Over all good job in my books.

All heavy vehicle dispatches have had their command point cost increased by 1

why is StuG III E a heavy? and KV1 isn't?

I like this, but the only question I have is the t34/85 price increase. Its more expansive than an is2.

Because individually the T34/85 is probably the best tank in the game for its cost. Two of them are better than an IS2.

You're probably right I can't wait to try this patch out.

So uhhh...

Howitzer nerf
KV2 nerf
DSHK nerf
PG nerf
Stug G nerf

Relic haet niche units. Though I guess PGs were hardly niche. But still.

I also like small touches like the already inferior ZiS getting a smaller improvement than the PaK, the G43s now apparently being the best weapon in the game on the move (SMGs easier to use than semi-automatic rifles? Perish the thought, this is COH!), ram being made into even more of a lottery, etc.

Agree Strummingbird, I was gonna post the same thing.

Panzerwurfer nerf should have been to its accuracy.

Let's see what happens with the tanks...I still think it won't be worth it to try to flank tanks because it doesn't seem they adjusted the moving accuracy on the T34s...

And...ram probabilities remain the same? So ram probably won't be used at all, I've only seen a dying T34 ram a tank and succeed before getting killed once or twice in all these months.

G43 Got better?
Imo they were already killing machines?

Pak40 has no hold fire, but the Pak43 has?
Cmon?

G43 are better if you get really close to the squad but worse if you keep your distance.

Currently on live the LMG42 and G43 are basically straight upgrades at all ranges, therefore you always get them on every squad.

As a result of these changes the LMG42 will be good at long range, but bad if you can close in. Conversely the G43 will be good up close but bad at max range. This should give people the potential to counter the differed upgrades by either closing in, or staying back. It will also make the Ostheer player actually consider which upgrades he wants to give to which squads since giving every single squad an LMG42 will make you super vulnerable to PPSh/Shocks but giving every squad G43 will make you vulnerable to Snipers/Guards/Maxims/Vanilla cons

Was it really that un-balanced? Heavy german nerf.

Thanks for the fast and big patch. Nice to see gamedevelopers developing a game instead of just making it. I remenber AOE3, it had like 16 different factions but 10 of them was forbidden to play in multiplayer cause there op-ness.
Good job relic!

I'm happy that MG's can deal with light vehicles more effectively as well as Dshk cost reduction (now we just need a decent commander with it.)

Sniper and Target Weak Point bugs fixed woot!

I hope the Stug III E CP increase is justified by its performance in this patch.

I'm disappointed that Guards still spawn with PTRS instead of it being an upgrade, oh well.

SU-76 and Stug look like they will be even more fragile than before. I hope they can survive a shot from anything.

I look forward to seeing how acceleration and mobility changes work out especially on my favorite unit the T70. Vehicles move a bit faster on roads now and tread vehicles move faster than wheeled in cover which is a nice touch.

Blitzkrieg
  • Blitzkrieg enabled German armor to escape potentially deadly situation at a fairly low cost. This placed German armor in a very advantageous position relative to Soviet armor, as they could take greater risk while sustaining lower casualties on average. Other issues, such as awkward movement behavior or unrealistic accuracy, made the ability feel a bit cheap and magical. This change synergizes well with the recent modifications to acceleration, as vehicles will be far more responsive while the ability is active.
    • Now provides 1.6x acceleration
    • Received accuracy modifier from 0.5 to 0.75
    • Speed and accuracy modifier removed
    • Munition cost from 40 to 30

I dont understand this change, what exactly does it do?
