This can be a good option for new players buying the game instead of the rather intimidating current state (buy game, missing lists of commanders, skins, etc).

"The unique thing is that you're actually going to be able to play against existing COH2 content, too," he continues. "So if you buy the US forces, say, you'll be able to drop into the automatch pool and play against the Eastern Front armies potentially on an Eastern Front map. Equally, if you own the original COH2 and you haven't had the chance to pick up any of the Western Front content and you drop into automatch, you'll actually have the opportunity to be matched up with somebody who's on the same side of the war that you are, but potentially on another map. So if you don't own the US and you're playing as the Soviets, you could potentially be teamed up with the US and playing on a Western Front map."

If I want to play a fantasy RPS I'll go and play SC2 or something.

Also, a year ago Relic was all like 'we don't like that the easter front gets forgotten in ww2 games, want to focus on them more'... and now they are adding americans, what gives?

Yeah, I wouldn´t mind if it was possible in some custom game. But please don´t match USA and Sovs in ranked games in one team. That would look so silly.

Immersion would be totally gone.

Not excited about this at all. And I don`t plan on giving those clowns any more of my money, they clearly don`t deserve it.

BTW that EGX presentation was hilarious how nobody cared and all the questions were irrelevant.

Great news!
Did they say anything about the new factions - will they implement the same commandersystem as for soviets and ostheer?

It still boggles my mind how people play this game in a multi-player/competitive capacity and still oppose having things like mixed allies and mirror matches. I really don't get it at all, to me, historical accuracy doesn't count for much at all once I enter multi-player.

I guess it would be nice to introduce an option to have only 'historical' online matches, but tha would really cut the community. Personally I would have liked to see the ability to have any combination of factions vs any other combination.

Having said all that, I am looking forward to seeing what the new units will be. I wonder how different the Wermacht will play to Ostheer though? Panzer Elite were a big departure, I wonder how they will handle this expansion?

I like it! I think it will add a whole new interesting level to tournament/competitive play. Yes you should have the option of being able to only select Eastern or Western front for matchups for the historical players.

go play starcraft II, this is a WW2 rts for a reason. If they really enable sovs+ US matches in one game i will quit the game.
Retarded.

Just imagine the battles as an alternativ history, don't cling to historic accuracy, make your own story!

Well, then i guess i should stop playing COH 2, guess this isin't the place for me.

Apparently the only way i can get a realistic experience is by reading a book.

As long as it is Soviets+Americans vs the two german factions and not Soviets vs Americans vs OH vs Oberkommando I'm okay with the new faction mix.

Why all the hate for this? You don't mind the idea of two different German armies? I would think adding ONE faction to balance only against Ost would make much more sense.

Now you have to balance US vs. Ost, US vs. Wehr, USSR vs. Ost and USSR vs. Wehr. 4 times more work than just tweaking a US against an already existing Ost.

I have no problem 2 german armies. I have no problem about the expansion pack. I have no problem the new german army + old one playing together. I have a problem sovs+ US playing together.

I also have a problem with US on eastern front maps.

Well thats what i will apparently be doing. Or just doing 1v1 as sovs only. That way there is no americans. That might still work.
