what were these hats called?
and how long were they in use for/why? xD


It's a standard beret I think, albeit a bit new which is why they are standing up a bit.

It doesn't get knocked off getting in and out like most other headwear does; and it's a bit of padding for when your head comes into contact with something metal - because it will at some point

And it's black, like the rest of the uniform, because you are going to get covered in oil at some point.
