I doubt there ever will be tbh. If there was I could accidentally delete images that I used in articles back when I was editor and that would be bad.

Admins can delete them but we have no plan to give access to this feature exactly because we don't want people to break links as Basilone said. Sure we could start marking files as "cannot be deleted" when we use them etc but it's not really worth it.
There's currently no limit on what you can upload but we'll quickly notice abuses. You don't need to worry about anything if you used a couple of MB by mistake, it doesn't matter to remove them.
