I found the thread explaining how to edit commander abilities, but British commander abilities don't seem to reference abilities, so how do I do this
I want to replace Special weapon regiment's weirdly named pepper_pot (coordinated fire) ability with the land mattress
This is weird af so any help would be great!

The list with commander-abilities from the Brits is indeed hidden somehow.
A possible solution to achieve what you want is:
To clone the pepper_pot ability and set the requirement to: not, race british.
Then clone the land mattress ability and replace the requirement with any_in_list: "The current land mattress required_player_upgrade" + "The current pepper_pot required_player_upgrade".

May I ask how the mod team actually edited the commanders? Did relic give them access or I heard that they used a win condition and LUA/scar coding.
If it's the latter I'm outta luck seeing as IDK how to do that stuff
