Hey guys. In this match you will see how superior positioning and concealment wins early infantry engagements.
I see lots of crying on the forums about how weak Soviets have become after the most recent patch, but I strongly disagree.
I main Soviets (due to the disparity in the matchmaking), and I've found this patch to be amazing for Soviets.
You simply have to choose your engagements wisely and do what Soviets already excel at... picking when and where to fight.
Liberal use of Oorah! (to close distance and minimize ranged DPS of Axis) and molotovs (to deny cover and do burst damage) are the keys to this match.
I was surprised later in the match to see just how awesome For the Motherland is. What a sick ability. Your infantry become super-fast terminators for a full minute. I used this to flank a garrisoned MG in the last quarter of the game and turned it on to stop the Axis player's final infantry push at the top VP.
I hope this replay inspires some Soviet players.
What German early game advantage? :)
