Thread: LMG-4218 Jul 2023, 13:15 PM
So let me state i am not quite sure what to do with this weapon upgrade, at 60 munis it is quite expensive, but then on the other hand it's damage output is quite insane.
The reason i have a problem with this weapon is just the sheer amount of damage it does, now i have heard people saying it is fine because you need to stand still, but most of the time you want to be still and in cover for the accuracy and defense bonus(though small as it is) so i see this a bit of a non issue. each burst kills at least 1 conscript, and its reload timer is not that high.
To try and put this into perspective for the ostheer fans, i picked one up with a vet 2 cons squad, i stoped in the open and went toe to toe with a vet 1 Pgren unit, the Pgrens had yellow cover, 1 burst droped one, secound burst dropped the secound one, a lucky headshot from a regular rifle killed the 3 and the LMG open up again and killed the 4th, all in about 6 to 7 second's worth of fighting. as i recall vet 2 cons get an accuracy bonus so that helped the LMG alot, but it just goes to shows the LMG just shreds infantry.
Now i belive myself to have an open and objective mind about balance even though i am a pure soviet player, so i would like to ask to community for its opinions about this weapon,
is it fair? to expensive, to cheap, how should it be changed?
Thanks for reading and please keep it civil

Eugen makes "Wargame", European escalation, airland battle, red dragon, both steel divisions, and their new one coming up is WARNO. I've enjoyed red dragon for what it is, and I definitely wouldn't call it SC2 paced. There can be fast micro in particular with aircraft, but other than that it's just turning weapons on/off and it's around cohs level of micro.
all BS games |
Men of War Assault Squads -> COH KILLER
Men of War Assault Squads 2 -> COH KILLER
Gates of Hell -> COH KILLER
MOW2 is hot pile of garbage. It was pile of garbage when it was a free2play, it remained garbage when it became MOW2.
Assault Squads 2 was semi-realistic competitive game, with their own metas micro and pro-moves. Gates of Hell went for pretty much almost full realism.
MOW2 went for an RTS approach and all the appeal old MOW had pretty much were removed in favour of tank HP and other garbage.
you forgot something:
Tempest Rising -> COH KILLER
Grey Goo -> COH KILLER
Iron Harvest -> COH KILLER |
How about this?

Reinforcing is now more of a choice than a tiring chore you have to do all the time |
At a certain point, you really need to re-evaluate your "muh user involvement" argument and ask yourself: "is this something that is actually engaging/fun to waste my time doing".
There are certain things that coh has never had you waste your time with. Why don't you ever have to refuel your tanks? Why don't you have to worry about supplying your units with ammunition to shoot their weapons with? Why don't you have to spend time cutting down trees and mining iron to build your base structures with? Do you really want to do these things? Would it improve your """user involvement"""? Or would it be asinine and take away from the thing you actually want to do (play the game).
Ask yourself seriously if you honestly enjoyed reinforcing your units. If you really miss having to squint and pick the right picket fence, maybe even missing it a few times in the process.
In fact, don't even ask yourself if you enjoyed reinforcing your units. There's no reason to because you can just turn it off. Wow, now you have your user involvement again. Amazing. Or is it simply that you dislike the fact that the game is being made more accessible to noobs and console players. Just say that instead man. Jesus.
psst.
don't try logic and elaborate answers here |

multiplayer test is over |
I like that you stayed truly neutral towards coh1, especially in the variety and gameplay aspects. as soon as i understood that it's basically all about snipers and sniper wars, it killed the game for me.
good video
PS: Maybe a no-sniper tourney would be n idea sometime |
my biggest gripe is that i cant zoom in enough |
