Early game was okay. If you're going UC get it as your first or second unit on Xroads as its one of the few maps where its actually quite easy not to get fausted.
UC as your first unit makes a lot of sense if you want to play right from north as its a more aggressive play and in this game you can actually push beyond the fuel because you have no UC. Vickers upgrade is 10x better if you arent having problems with garrison, wasp does really low damage to units not in green cover or structures.
Dont go AEC with the Tank Hunter section commander, you picked a doctrine where the main benefit is having an AT/Snare unit, just get an AT gun otherwise its 75 fuel you arent spending on a rushed centaur, thats like 3-4 minutes usually.
Especially bad that he preempts it with a pak but you couldn't have known, still although Flamer HT can be annoying as Brits, with a 20 range snare and an at gun deals with pretty much any LV quite well.
iHitto is doing a really slow build and you have the whole map, if you just rushed centaur you could have really punished him. The AEC choice with that commander pick probably loses you this game. You should really pick up a vickers within the first 10 minutes too.
You actually started building a fuel cache at the point when you would have actually been able to queue up a centaur. Brits have the cheapest tech in game, especially if you dont buy weapons tech or bolster pre-t3. The one big decision you have to make early game is AEC or rushing Centaur/Cromwell.
So you were holding the map just fine with 4 man and no AEC, got 5-man and AEC and it made no real difference on your map presence while making your centaur come out about 5 minutes later. You could have had it queued up at 9 minutes with how well your early game went.
~15minutes Centaur loss was very unnecessary, you really needed vickers this game especially once you'd got ahead. The Ost sniper really isn't doing much
If you have two section with infantry flares upteching to Anvil is a very good idea. You also have two sappers for anvil tech.
You picked the worst time to dive the paks with your Cromwell, you had 3 section and a sapper in base. If you'd kept your Centaur alive you could have just used the vet ability wipe them instantly, they werent being well microd by iHitto.
Mortar wipe at 21 minutes sucks, units is clumped while it pulls away from cover. Dont move your unit out of cover until a shell hits usually or you're increasing the chance of a wipe. Still really unlucky but thats just scatter RNG. You've already thrown the game at this point though.
The on at 23 minutes is the same sort of wipe, as a squad leaves cover it clumps thats when most indirect wipes happen. Just have to use audio queue, dont pull the squad out of cover if you just heard the firing sound. Still just another instance of unlucky scatter RNG
Better off with a Cromwell and a Centaur over a Croc in most cases. Croc only good on the maps where it cant die usually like semois or kholodny.
Can understand thats a frustrating loss. If you didn't lose the centaur for the sniper and then dive at a bad time with your Cromwell that game was yours.
At 15 minutes you had the whole map a centaur a cromwell an aec 4 section 2 sappers vs paks grens an mg a sniper and a mortar. One good push you would have won, instead at 18 minutes he has his same army comp + a p4 and you've lost everything but your section and sappers.
Make Vickers if your early game goes well, theres a mortar and a sniper sure but you can keep moving it around and the stone garrison is a really good one for a vet 1 vickers.
UC in your first 2 units of your build order, at the 3rd one its usually arriving into a gamestate where your opponent has 3 fausts out.
Aimstrong and Refero make UC first unit AFAIK, usually takes till about 2 minute mark until an Ost player can actually get 25 muni so you can be really aggressive with it, would have suited your early push for the right well though you already got away with it because iHitto didnt open with an MG to push you off so you managed to get a trench up.
Make use of your commander pick. AEC is great as part of a Pit Avre build or a Commando build, doesn't give you much when you're doing the AT Section build which suits a Centaur rush a lot more.
Little more fore-thought into actions. "Is losing my centaur to dive the sniper worth it when i'm this ahead" "I should wait until all my units are here before I push the double Pak with a lone Cromwell".
Ost is the hard match-up for Brits relative to the OKW one and iHitto is a good player, you definitely would have won this game with better tank micro/decisions |
