On the other hand, sweeping specifically in 1v1 is one of OKWs biggest weaknesses.
Sweeping for mines is an issue for OKW.
Honestly, I think this is a good part of the meta balance. And putting sweepers on Volks will just make they even more shitty mainline infantry. Although the Uhu idea seems cool, at the same time it sounds silly to detect for mines with infrared scanners. |
2) Without butchering healing too much, med crates should be moved to kubel, and it should be 1 crate not 3, for 10-15 munition. Right now there is no MP invesment (since you get SPs as starting unit), with creates moved to kubel, there would be MP invesment, allowing creates themself to become cheaper.
Healing shouldnt be teching factor, considering its a critical part of the gameplay.
This also will remove some pressure from STpios, aswell wont destoy OKW economy if you lose them.
Interesting idea. Can't say if I like it or not.
3) Mech HQ should be cheaper, around 30-40 fuel to be set up, while difference in price should go to AA unlock. This will help OKW inf play, with allowing faster obersts. LMG still will be locked behind AA unlock and have corrent timing.
This will only make Battlegroup HQ even worse. |
Coh2 for your mobile phone.
That already exists. |
For me snare from mainline infantry totally destroy the Light vehicle play, where a small mistake, or a surprise flanking from infantry snare will cause the lost of Light. Lead to early defeat.
I prefer to have mainline infantry snare removed in the next game (or may be they're just a soft counter to vehicle for mainline infantry). Only mines should cause engine damage to vehicles (West armies used to be rare in snare play).
Light vehicles are generally extremely oppressive when used correctly or underwhelming when used wrong. I think snares are still necessary to soft counter LVs, but only if you have another AT unit to deal the necessary damage first. The best that could happen probably is increasing snare damage but also increasing snare threshold, allowing for one hit snares of the earliest vehicles but requiring more for later vehicles. |
MG is not available until the first building is built.
Flaktrack gun is clunky.
Obers come way too late against elite infantry/vetted mainline.
Volks bleed too heavy late game.
They need some work.
A lot of things in the game could use work, but let's be realistic here, we'll be lucky to get another patch. I think we'll have to live with most of the problems we have right now. |
I think the issue at hand is not necessarily the 7-man-upgrade, but the ability to build sandbags (and way better sandbags than the normal ones at that). The problem aren't the 7 men per se, as they are still cons, but it's 7 men in heavy cover when you have to push plus their insane utility with molotovs and AT-nades.
In conclusion, maybe upgrading them to a 7-men-cons should lose them the ability to construct sandbags or something along that line? What do you think about that?
I'm pretty sure the 7th man adds a veteran squad leader bonus that gives them cover buffs like the British. Could get rid of that if it's too much. |
In my opinion they're less effective than they should be because of engine snares.
That is also true. I would like to see snares do much more damage but only cause engine damage at either 33% or 50% health, but that's too big a change to happen in this game. Maybe in a future CoH if one ever comes out. But in order for mediums to stand a chance against heavy tanks I feel like side armor is also necessary to allow for flanking of armor. It's almost impossible to flank a non-casemate tank in the current game simply because there's really nothing to flank. |
Practically speaking, we'll be lucky to even get one new patch. And the only change you suggested that could be done without drastically changing the state of balance is changing Sturmpioneer panzershreck to 50/60 muni. Sander93 has already made a thread with this suggestion in his personal balance suggestions, along with letting Sturms upgrade with sweepers and shrecks IIRC. |

Mediums are not very effective in this game because the engine does not model side armor. |
Use their camo and fuck shit up. They will essentially win any 1v1 if you use them as originally intended.
I meant when going on the offensive. I'm always hesitant to perform sneaky flanks and fancy moves with them because if anything goes wrong I can expect my Falls to get wiped on retreat. |
