For a while I always recorded games in OBS just for this reason. But some kind of rewind would be awesome for sure. Since you cant look at everything in OBS, just your view when played.

Another idea (worse than your #1): give a directional retreat order.
Like the way you set up an MG. You can give that retreat a direction.
That way you would give a directional retreat order, and the squad would retreat the first 5-20 range into that direction and then start its normal retreat.
You would not want to allow that in any direction opposed to your base.
This idea is not perfect, like your #2, but may be it is food for thought.

I have suggested this in the past also.

There should be two retreat options.
1) Normal instant retreat to base.
2) A retreat button similar to A-MOVE. The unit moves to the Amove spot then back to base.

I suggest #2 because retreats usually are decided in a split second. You dont have time to map things out.

The problem with normal retreats is when you are on the opposite side of a long flat movement blocker. You have no idea which way the unit will go.

For #2 I would suggest retreating only backwards not forwards as Gunther suggested.

EDIT: Rosbone has legit concerns. He might not take the most diplomatic approach to getting his points across (lol) but it is in all of our interests that the matchmaking system is better than what COH2 currently offers.

You have to act like a mental case to cut thru peoples apathy. We are all decendents of people who were enslaved or oppressed violently. Anyone who could think for themselves and strive to make things better was killed off. So humanity has become a field of sheeple and cows mooing thru the day.

Me: (Sitting in qeue for days trying to get a single good game) Yes I think it is.

Me: Clearly there are no intelligent people playing/making coh2. My efforts are wasted here. Peace.

There are a bunch of really cool people that play and stream Coh2. So I did what I could to help them and help Relic make a better product. Relic does not care. I did what I could to help you guys out.

Most streamers (myself included) are in the top 1-30 area, meaning we get obscenely long queue times, but for the ordinary guy it usually isn't that bad for primetime

I am talking about people who are in qeue for less than a minute to get a game of top 100 players vs 6000 noobs. Does any cool feature of Coh2 make a game like this fun besides /L? If Coh2 had a cool commander system would this game be fun?

No, nothing can makes this fun.

I know my post was really large so:
- Coh2 best RTS ever.
- Relic trying to sell Coh3 = building new concrete walls on top of a hut made of twigs.

The fact no one at Relic can see these two flashing lights is mind bending and proves their management is imcompetent.

There are only two options: they suck at their jobs or they are doing it on purpose to kill Coh2.
