Can we PLEASE get rid of steppes, general mud and la gleize for the 3v3 map pool? My veetos are taken up by these (crappy) 4v4 maps that are better spent on many other crappy 3v3 maps.

Yep, please remove any map retreat takes 20 seconds from the midline in 3v3. I'd personally expand that to all maps, but we wouldn't have many team maps left.

too much distance from base results in slow play and a small number of super high impact engagements.

The long retreat times make it feel like the first engagement decides the fate of your entire early game, which has a significant influence on your mid-game. I dislike that, I think team maps should be wider, not longer.

Pretty much that, and if you have a team of sov vs a team of OKW or a team of YKF vs a team of OST, the forward retreat stations are a massive advantage.

Whiteball express is agreat example of a 3v3 map done well, I can't imagine it would work too well on a 4v4 but its as you said, wider than it is longer.

Whiteball Express has a lot of issues too. The garrisons in the middle are very annoying because just camps behind them with FHQ and support weapons are generally way too good because everything is so open and there are not enough shot blockers that stop AT and MG walls. The same can be said about snipers. Almost impossible to deal with unless the opponent is playing it wrong. Of course, this then leads to rocket arty spam every single game.

Far left position on the bottom side of Ettelbrook Station is pure cancer to play. You cut across the middle on retreat. Its worth than Port of Hamburg.

As a mainly USF player.

Worst 3v3 maps:
Ettelturd station. Just pure spios/pak43/artyfest/large ass cone MG42 lockdown/cancer brit mortar pits/werfercancer

Essen steelworks. Just too large and stupidly designed with plenty of idiotic cover placements and pathfindings. Haven't seen a tank not get a seizure trying to drive anywhere on that map

Angrymundy: Pure shit MG42 in key buildings rush. Pathfinding. Pak43 behind tall buildings blocking all arty except vertical offmaps. Also cancer brit mortar pits when playing as OKW. Seizures on retreat paths and vehicle movements.

Port of Hamburger: lane-y shit. Favors one side over the other. Hard to flank, easy to mine. Easy to lock out. Cancer building on bot fuel. Still, better than Angry, Essen and Turdstation.

All snow maps because of FPS. F*** that s***

Shitstain express. Lane-y s*** with idiotic slight elevation on top fuel. Still better than Angry, Essen and Turd

Hill of 400 turds: Cancer elevation. Arty fest and occasional pak43 to fu** up your evening being parked behind and sniping with 80 range. Need arty to kill it on that map.


Best 3v3 maps:

Whiteball. Has some cancerous tactics on the mid VP and if no offmaps are taken, pak43 behind the building can f*** you up.

Steppes. A bit too large but great design. Large wide map. Cancer shooting up the elevation though.

Rhzev Winter would be a good map if the f****** winter part was cut out.

Winekkendonk is absolute blast. Great map


Neutral maps:

Rhine. Lane-y and cancer top building for pios into MG42 rush, even locking out fuel with range from it.

General mud. A bit too large but great flanking options and no cancer schwerer/pak43 positions

Lienne Forest. Great map. Cancer playing against spios in forest or MG42s in buildings but otherwise an OK map.

Just my 2 cents. Shoutout to creators of Whiteball, it really is a good map.

The map of the Soviets. There is no way to win against them in this map just because of Shock Troops and all the flame weaponry.

Agreed. Tank seizure are all over the map and pathfinding just makes it even worse.

Those small pavements next to the center WP are just horrendous. Both tanks and infantry get super wonky when they try to do pathfinding over them.

Never seen the top side win on that map. It is always the bottom team that wins it.

That map is just huge for 3v3 IMO. However, the sight blockers favor Axis and Pak-43/LeFH turtle incredibly hard.

As with Redball, this map is also HUGE for 3v3s IMO. Also it really favors team weapon play and turtling which is just OST's bread and butter. The lack of sight blockers other than central VP just promotes heavy TDs (JT and Ele) and for the central VP just build a Pak behind the building with MG in it and the game is just over.


Steppes. A bit too large but great design. Large wide map. Cancer shooting up the elevation though.

Again, huge map for 3v3. However I do agree that it is one of the best designed maps.


Rhzev Winter would be a good map if the f****** winter part was cut out.

Winter is what makes it good IMO. One of the best maps again.


Winekkendonk is absolute blast. Great map

I do agree that it is a great map with only exception being UKF mortar pits and SOV 120 mm's being absolute monsters behind the tree line in the bottom center.

This is one of the best maps IMO. Maybe its just me but the map really feels alive.

I really like this map other than literally EVERYWHERE being red cover.

I find this map the incarnation of cancer.

Would be a great map if not for elevation. Last game I played it on. Was shooting with 2 JP4s at an IS-2 and KV8. Out of 7 or 8 shots taken (about 4 each), only 2 collided with those hulking beasts. Rest went into the ground, or into the stars.

You are right about all of the above, with slight difference to my tastes but this statement is juts pure fallacy. How is Lienne cancerous? It's not the best of maps but still..

That is really weird. Because it runs perfectly smooth on my i7 7700HQ and GTX950M.


You are right about all of the above, with slight difference to my tastes but this statement is juts pure fallacy. How is Lienne cancerous? It's not the best of maps but still..

I don't like the center which favors the top side team with the massive building and mass green cover and the forest being an absolute horror movie for allies against OKW while left side is completely dominated by either maxim spam or MG42 spam.

I asked to turn the main bases straight instead of this weird banana shape to improve the positioning for everyone, but sadly it being unique apparently took priority over better gameplay. Same with the damn trees everywhere on Lienne Forrest that your vehicles continuously get stuck on.

...Seriously?

I got that position twice and I was done with the map.

Advancing past the midpoint is suicide because your retreat path goes through through the middle VP where the center players are duking out with everything they have. Once you cap your half, its usually more efficient to just help try and take the center VP.

I like the symmetrical maps best because they feel the most balanced. Road to Arnheim is probably the best map. Middle has a wide flank area, symmetrical buildings on both sides and symmetrical green cover (to an extent). One thing I would change is map the map left to right like Nordwind so camera angles are even, instead of one team starting with enemy up, team down and other team is team up and enemy down (requiring changing of camera angle). Thats just me nitpicking though. Road to Arnheim is seriously the best map.

For all the flak that Whiteball and Redball get (some people say Axis favoured). I still like them as Allies because of the semi-symmetrical design. the resource nodes are centered around the middle and the middle is the hardest part to control which makes it feel very fair. Its definitely different from say Lienne or that one snow map where fuel is guaranteed. Guaranteed fuel seems to favour Axis a lot more than Allies.

Port of Hamburg needs to be removed from team games. Its just an awful map in general. Too crowded and too many blocked paths. It should have been removed along with Ettelbruck whenever Ettelbruck was removed from 4s.

yes the trees in leine forest and lanzerth ambush needs to be crushable by heavy tanks or howizters

only 3v3 map i dont like is Angrymundy.
not only laney, but too much buildings to camp and favors forward retreat factions.

general mud is too big too.

i wish they can put stadtust back as a 3v3 map. I never get why it was removed from 2v2?
