Assault Grenadiers also need something into the late-game. I don't see why they don't just add a passive buff that activates around 3CP or on T2 Building / T3 tech.
Ironic that the Germans issued more MP 40's to deal with the Soviet's heavy SMG usage, yet in this game, PPSh completely counters the AG's. |
Otherwise they might shoot "all but one bullet" leaving you with yet another annoying reload.
They already do that. God it when your MG fires 3 shots and starts reloading, and the Cons realise what's happening and Ooralotov.
On that topic though, does the MG42 team automatically reload to normal ammo when time is up, no matter if there are enemies around or not?
No, the gun just starts feeding normal ammo again when the timer runs out, even if it's mid-burst. |
Personally I'd like to see the MG 42's arc of fire reduced to that of the MG Bunker, but increase the suppression and damage within the arc so people stop charging at the damn thing. Preferable increase damage substantially at close range so they stop hanging around to get that Molly off. |
Also let the Maxim and DShK move in reverse. The difference between then refacing the gun and running around in a circle is usually the difference between a secure flank and a breach. |
-snip, accidental double due to internet problem- |
Shock Troops are not weak against Fire. They take the same fire damage as everyone else. You know what's weak against fire? Osttruppen, those guys are practically coated in gasoline. Flame Half-Tracks shouldn't be a huge problem with proper support (Conscript AT Nades are a MUST if he goes FHT), and Pioneers are obviously a horrible choice to fight Shock Troops.
That aside, to make them weak to fire we'd have to reduce their health and increase their armour (which would make them more vulnerable to explosives as well), and I don't see that happening any time soon, nor do I particularly advocate it. |
Another thing I would like to see is more consistency with explosives. Yesterday a Rifle Grenade gibbed my entire full health vet Conscript Squad in one hit (I was dumbfounded). Today a Rifle Grenade failed to kill a single model in an Engineer Squad, only hurt them.
Abilities like this should be more consistent, I hate using the Rifle Grenade knowing I'm just gambling on 1-3 kills, and depending on luck I might get a jackpot (6 kills, extremely rare) or a bust (0 kills, much more common unfortunately). |
And they wouldn't have any difference(except uniform and need for doctrine) over PZGs with camo upgrade due to how camo works in coh2.
You're getting jeager light infantry eventually, that will be all you'll need.
Actually I said what the differences were, they had more health and the highest DPS of any infantry in the game. Nonetheless it doesn't matter, my post was purely a joke. |
I totally would if I used Facebook |
In theory shouldn't the T-34/85 be the Soviet M10? Highly mobile with weak armour with a strong gun. |
