Because soviet units have more durability while the germans are more effective at their roles.
The german sniper still kills squads faster, camos faster, and is more available. It is by far a better unit in every other situation except sniper duals.
And as it has been shown, this designed is heavily flawed. They tried to balance it by making the Soviet Snipers shoot very slowly. But then if you get 2 Snipers, they don't need to shoot fast, they can put any squad at risk, especially weapon crews. Their durability means they never die unless the Soviet player fucks up, or the German player gets a lucky mortar hit. |
It'd be neat if they made it so that the Sniper had the Sniper Rifle and the Spotter was required for the large LOS and Flares.
Among other fixes of course, that's just a drop in the bucket of possible fixes, if the duo is even kept around.
The worst part about Snipers is you can get 2 of them and become uncontested. Germany's 4 man infantry squads simply can't compete. |
and in the end chewbacca comes and kill the nazis while riding a squirrel
I don't follow- |
I kind of want a mission where we play a single (or group of) Polish Partisan(s) (possible a lone-sniper (based of German stats) with a squad or two for support) trapped between the battling German and Soviet forces, and have to try and escape the war zone before either side wipes them out. |
So you don't use hot keys for abilities? like attack move? I really recommend changing this habbit, It'll be awkward as heck for some time but youll become more competitive after.
Yeah, which is why I tried to change to the mouse moving, but I couldn't get used to the inversion and was far less comfortable with it. I actually had worse reaction times because I could not get used to the inversion and would scroll away from what I wanted instead of near to it. Ideally I'd like to use Mouse4 + Drag ( not inverted), but that just isn't an option, unfortunately. If I'm in a super rush though, I won't hesitate to mash T rather than waste time scrolling over to a tiny button.
Yeah, if its too hard for you to move away from arrows, you can use my method. My hand places over WASD which become the arrow keys, and I can hit all hot keys qert, I moved middle row of keys over, except f and zxcv for all special abilities. I also rebound tactical map to ` (key next to 1), if you so wish to use it. PM me if you want the script
Sounds interesting, I'm an avid player of TPS and FPS games, so WASD and the surrounding keys are certainly no stranger to me. I'll shoot you a PM in a moment here. |
I like that AA Emplacement, looks like the shells hit everything but it. I'm sure the shock was more than enough to deal with the crew members though, so no harm done (or actually, quite a bit of harm done). |
You either are consistent or not.
No double standards.
Either you agree to both dropping, or none.
This is not how you balance a game. This is just logical fallacy because you don't want your precious Soviets to get nerfed without seeing the Germans get hit twice as hard.
And by the way, one is a 30mun rifle, one is a 10m SMG. One G43 costs as much as an entire Assault Package. |
Bring back MGBikes!
I forgot all about that shit, remembering now, they were guys in ranked who started off with 2 bikes.
Like I suggested before, T0 GAZ-67 for SU, TO Kübelwagen for OH. Maybe make them immune to Engine Damage from Infantry AT units.
There is no such thing as small arms crits in coh2.
Technically there is, but it only determines type of death; injured or dead. |
I think if you add too many variables into the game the damage would become highly unpredictable. It would also make it extremely difficult for the Soviets to counter Panthers/Tigers/Elephants without bum rushing them with so many T74's or relying on doctrinal call in's.
Soviets are already highly reliant on doctrinal call-ins.
The only bad thing about this I can see is that the SU-76 would be nerfed unintentionally, and the last thing poor '76 needs is a nerf. |
I don't know what 1/2 a slot is, but doctrinal upgrades don't drop just like the g43.
Wrong, Guards drop their DP's and PTRS Rifles. One's an upgrade, both are doctrinal.
Personally I like the idea that PPSh can be dropped. Not only because it makes you need to be a bit more careful and pay more attention, but from a historical standpoint the Germans loved to capture and use the PPSh, especially due to their shortage of SMG's against a very SMG heavy Army, the extra fire-power was certainly welcome.
The only problem is I don't know if there is a dropped model for the PPSh, or voice lines, so those would need to be made. |
