The easy8 has more armor and can take an extra hit. HVAP round also have AOE of 0.25 while the Easy has 2. In: COH2 Balance

But look at the competition. Revamped Armor Company. Heavy Cavalry Company. Mechanized Everything Company. USF's commanders could really do with an ability reshuffle. Imo the revamped USF commander are overbuffed with a large number of bundled abilities. In: COH2 Balance

And if the sidetechs are automatic purchases, there's not really any point in having them. Just factor them into the teching cost instead. USF and UKF pulled off sidetech acceptably. Soviet's sidetech has been a train wreck from the start. Imo sidetech can easily work for the soviet. Side tech allows you to choose if you want to invest into a unit or not. And since Soviets have so many good doctrinal option imo it is the way to go. The player will have the option to either improve his core units with side tech or invest in doctrinal units. The current changes to T2 (cheaper) do not make more attractive simply because T1 offers to much for too little. Instead they allow back tech solidifying T1 as the best option. If one lock penal power behind side techs and upgrades T2 will become more attractive with out leading to maxim spam. In: COH2 Balance

The Easy-Eight will still have lower moving scatter than most other tanks I think has been applied I did not check the editor since it is in the final notes. Scatter value for other tanks is 1.5 if I remember correctly. In: COH2 Balance

M4A3 76mm ‘Easy-Eight’ The Easy-Eight will still have lower moving scatter than most other tanks; previously the E8 had no scatter penalties for moving. Moving scatter from 1 to 1.35 In: COH2 Balance

Bottom line Easy8 is superior to PanzerIV J. I am pretty sure the usual suspects would complain that the unit is OP if the PanzerIV J become an easy8 clone. In: COH2 Balance
