Seems like a definitive proof that StG obers lack absolutely nothing. Not really. Many units can beat in many ranges. Shocks are simply able to waltz thru open ground and beat 10 out 10 times. You can contact your own test and report the results. I simply pointed out an inaccurate claims. The rest is you creating your own scenarios and coming to your own biased conclusions. You simply can't close the distance in no way with stg obers. In they majority of games players will keep choosing lmg's upgrade instead of a stronger cqc obers squad. Long distance dps (on elite squads) is the best choice on most maps. That is inaccurate according to test Shocks troops charged STG Ober in open and won 10 out of 10 times. In: COH2 Balance

I do agree that it should be available to SU-85 since combined with focus sight it is OP. As for spotting scopes they are a doctrinal ability that with the recent buff is not even that great. Tracking and Hammer tracking can be used to chase enemy vehicles while spotting scopes cannot. In: COH2 Balance

Obersoldaten are allowed to have two LMG34 (drops permitting), but conscripts are locked out from pickups for the price of them actually being worth a damn late game. The Grenadier upgrades don't lock out another pickup, but cons? Gotta make sure they can't scavenge for some reason. Maybe the reason is because axis do not have access to drop able weapon like SVTs, Piats and Vickes-k. 7 men SVT conscripts would be problematic to say the least. In: COH2 Balance

You have already cover this THE UNIT DOES NOT "almost ignores cover", and since the ST44 have very high DPS at close range one should (in most case try) to move closer than 10 where the point blank mechanism kicks in anyway. Actually Vamp obers have no to very little advantage over LMG Ober vs heavy cover in long range. In: COH2 Balance

They almost completely negate cover and do decent damage. They're not in the role of super beefy assault units like Shocks and Rangers, so why should they beat them in that role? That is a bit of an exaggeration they do not "almost completely negate cover". They simply have 0.9 accuracy multiplier instead of 0.5. Damage reduction still applies. In: COH2 Balance
