You might pick one for early game advantage but that will also effect your late game playstyle. This would give risk reward and allow axis to prepare for late game better The reason Soviet/OKW faction was redesigned and USF had a revamp was because it was one had to choose early and stick with that choice making the faction too rigid. Probably be sticky with the existing 5 man grens but that can be adjusted separately. If one makes the 5 men a seperate unit instead of an upgrade that would solve any issues. Cons got their much needed adjustment, grens are as in need as ever and their viability shouldn't live and die by them being fully vetted If OKW are doing worse than Ostheer as some people claim, it would be better to nerf to allied units instead of buffing both grenadiers and OKW. Thread: Adjusted commander portraits9 Jun 2020, 06:36 AM Jump back to quoted post8 Jun 2020, 22:50 PMKasarov The German commanders were a lot more difficult to incorporate themes or consistency than the Soviet commanders as they are less focused on a particular elite infantry (like Shocks or Guards), instead focused upon many other late game choices while at the same time have fewer vanilla assets that we can mix and match from. In order to partially address this issue, I've commissioned our wonderful RitaRush to paint us some additional assets, but she hasn't finished them yet. Imo the AOE is probably too high the two values should be allot closer (certainly the weapon should not have penetration value of 0) In: COH2 Balance

I agree with many of the staff here and have made similar suggestion in the past. A minor correction of typo. Stuka has AOE penetration the normal penetration is 0 probably due to a bug/oversight. Well you have to think the suggested design similar to VG and Obers in a smaller scale. The 5 men unit that bleeds less is there to screen for the damage dealer that are LMG grenadiers. The 5 men unit is more geared for attrition fighting while the lmg grenadier are more about dishing out damage. As for riflemen equipped with BAR and 1919 the are good at all ranges. The reason why this was not that problematic was that the whole faction used to be based around riflemen so they where designed to be OP because the faction had an incomplete roster. Point here is that Grenadier should not be able to get both the g43 and LMG, if they can not stand up to BAR/M1919 riflemen it is the riflemen that need to change. In: COH2 Balance

Because it gives them great DPS at all ranges reducing the effect of relative positioning. Infantry and especially mainline infatry should excel at only one range. In: COH2 Balance

If the point is that five rifles is too strong, you can just make the rifles weaker, because you're making an entirely new squad. Do you want riflemen to have lugers available to loot and take home with them? Is that it? Good one . The luger on spawn would serve for lowering down their DPS since they should be available early and offering a way for an weapon upgrade different to the LMG. A mid to close weapon (could be 1-2 weapons) could also work for allowing them to fight CQC units a bit better since their DPS would not be enough to deter units from storming them. Hence the grenade also. The unit should be used more as helping normal grenadier with something more durable than completely replace them. In: COH2 Balance
