No vipper, something does not have to change in the tech. USF is finally flowing well with the pacing of its power spikes. It took years to fix USF to get it to that point and its not going to change because the same 3 people have a hard time decrewing pak howies(tip: try the counterbarrage ability on axis IDF units if you feel your micro isn't up to the task).

This

USF is in a good spot tech wise.

Pak should simply moved to t4 and replace scott. Mortar move to Captain, Scott then could become doctrinal.

That would kill to bird with one stone.

Swap Scott with Pack Howie, nerf survivability on Scott (HP or smoke) or move some of the power offensive budget from the auto fire to the barrage.

Rework Pack Howie, by removing auto fire and making it barrage only weapon with a profile closer to that of a Howitzer. Add a fuel cost. Make it similar (but not as bad) as the Land Mattress.

What a terrible idea, the m8 is already squisy and turning the pak howi into a shitty overpriced howi would kill the unit

saying the pak howi is op because its killing inf would be saying that the leig is OP because it can counter emplacements.

Pak howie does it job, just counter it with arty

I agree that a any mortar can hit hard a pak howie. I do. It still depends a lot on RNG.
But PH is much better at indirect range vs stationary troops. Has better AoE, thus less RNG

The JPz4 would be a mortar HT.

The last three times this unit was mentioned in the patch notes, it was nerfs each time. This is a serious L2P issue. It's easy af to decrew, its not mobile and axis gets a braindead button to press(counterbarrage) if they don't want to micro

But why would we just nerf the overpowered unit when we can reshuffle the entire USF tech structure instead?

400 HP with smoke and 60 range for auto fire? Increased with barrage (which is kinda bad hence the change). The unit would be bananas if it arrive at the same or similar timing as other light vehicles. The current performance is only justified because it's on the Major tech.

Pack Howie performance was in line when all other indirect fire automatic weapons (mortars) were strong (in afk mode).
Once all those got nerf, Pack Howie was an outliner and just received a nerf in the wrong direction (survivability nerf) and barely adjusting the scatter to be closer to that of the 120mm.

So you want to nerf both indirect fire options, making none of them vaible AND reshuffle the USF tech tree which took years to make? yeah no dude great idea, just nerf the splash a bit and bring it in-line with the rest if it has to be nerf (which it doesnt)

Mortar range is too short and does too little damage, its meant for smoking mostly

*Looks at 81mm mortar*

*Looks at Ost Mortar*

Did they nerf the US mortar to be worse than the Ost one and I missed the memo as well?
