It gets demolished because the players are bad... The KV-8 had 240 armour, a 55% chance for a Panzer IV shot to bounce, or a 36% chance for a Tiger shot to bounce. It has 960 health, that's 6 Ostheer tank shots. That's extremely tanky for a vehicle that whipes out Infantry faster than anything else in the game, and can chase them down if they retreat.
The reason you usually see the KV-8 lost is because people get their new KV-8 and send in on a suicide attack knowing they'll wipe half Ostheer's army in exchange for their one tank.
I would seriously quit. I dont often use the KV-8, as I use the speedy quadmount halftrack to do its job for me. But when AT piles up and the german infantry are numerous, i use it. Nerfing the KV-8? It indeed has plenty of weaknesses, such as its engine which will make the tank a massive target if it gets fausted/MINED.It also has TERRIBLE AT. I mainly will quit because it means relic has listened to the German players for nerfing a unit that isnt too much of a problem, meaning it has prioritized a unit adjustment for GERMANS when Soviets had a few issues with armor in terms of AT for some time now. The KV-8 can be ADJUSTED. All armor should be adjusted in the upcoming armor patch. But it has no need to be nerfed. That would be too much, and a blow to Soviet players' morale, destroying the glory of playing Russians altogether.
Sounds like you just use the KV-8 as a crutch and you're just mad they might make it fair somehow.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was removed as a precaution against maphacks. Having an easy means of removing fog of war in the code is a perfect target for a maphack.
Relic already said that they won t Change the stupid commander System. They are not interested in giving the People what they want.
Yeah everyone knows Relic HQ sits atop a large stone outcrop surrounded by cliffs where it is perpetually dark, with thunder and lightening whenever you look at it. The people inside only want to ruin a game they spent years creating, because that'll get them profit somehow. It's just like republicans! In fact, I bet they secretly work together...
PPSh Conscripts are good, they're not OP as they were, but they improve on the weakness of Conscripts. Without PPSh, closing in is still a toss up, even if you ambush Grenadiers at close range, and fighting at long range you will lose anyway. With PPSh, you're strong enough that if you ambush Panzergrenadiers, you may win, play smart and you can beat Grenadiers too, Pioneers will think twice before fighting you now.
Overall PPSh are almost a must for me now. While you do lose long range ability, but you never really had it in the first place, so the difference is negligible. 40 Mun price is pretty fair for what they do.
The problem with adding the french is that like many other said they actually did not posses any unique WW2 tanks.
This is honestly the problem with any army in WW2 that isn't Germany, Russia, America, or Britain. These 4 titans had all the good armour, everyone else had scrap metal on tracks in comparison.
Germany's allies are the worst, they all used German vehicles, so trying to get a unique feel out of them would be difficult as they would all be using Panzer IV's and the like...
I'm much more worried about the balance. How do you want to balance a COH Game with more than 4 factions properly??
The easy way would be to make sure everything is designed in a way that nothing is too strong against another thing. Then, add tons of modifiers to various units to make sure they're in-line with each other. That's the easy way, and it'd still be hard as hell, but it's possible.
I wonder how a T-34 squad would peform. Buy it, for the rough price of a Panzer IV, get 2 T-34/76 as part of one squad. That would encourage people to be more reckless with them, since losing one doesn't mean losing the veterancy and it can be cheaply replaced. It'd actually be fairly Soviet-like in that manner..
