I'd prefer let the player choose their zoom level. It was too close in COH2 imo. There's no reason to lock it down close like it was when you can just leave it up to the player to either zoom out and get a more macro view or zoom in and better see things like grenade animations etc. There's no imbalance there if both players can do the same thing...

Yea, definitely agree to disagree here dude. COH2 has so many stupid "get of of jail free" buttons it's not even funny. In COH1 you just lost.

Because CoH1 one was shit and took away control from the squad on contested point?
And forced the player to make a strategic decision to risk the cap or defend the position, something COH2 players never understood because they could just a-move their MG's across the map and cap and lock down sectors all at the same time. All part of the "COH2 is the noob friendly version of COH1" mantra.

COH2.org was somewhat shunned by Relic years ago after certain events. They no longer want to use this site as their medium of communication to their community members as it's not under their control, they'd prefer you go over to their forum now.

Yea that didn't happen. The first years of COH2 Relic didn't like what the top players had to say so we were pretty much ignored and silenced. That's why 90% of top players from COH1 did not move to COH2 for very long, the downgrade in mechanics and initial pay2win strategy was too much.
Relic didn't actually start listening until years after release when they realized they had F'd up. Even then the cycling of "experts" in their group was alarming. They'd bring in a new group for "private balancing" and if they didn't agree with the devs eventually they'd be phased out and a new group of "experts" brought in. Span this over years and hundreds of players. Most top players ran out of fucks to give for COH2 after enough of that.
Lets hope lessons were learned on both sides.

Unless a toilet was flushed and all the horrible Relic concoctions of the past were passed to turd land I don't see this happening. I have exactly zero faith that Relic/Sega could release another COH game in a professional and competitive manner.

Now is now. Launch was 2013. 5 years too late to make a difference.
They killed the true potential with the Pay2Win system and terrible design choices they made.
If COH3 became a reality I would hope that they learned from their mistakes. But considering I've been around for 12 years to watch them make the same ones over and over I don't hold high hopes.
