The thunderbolt zoom over head in a single pass and reveal a location for maybe about 5 seconds. the flare stay up in the air and there's nothing you can do to bring it down. True. But on the flip side the major recon gives to a glimpse of most to all the map (gets pretty solid with vet) whereas the flare needs to be in range and is only in the area you set it. Different types of recon. HOWEVER if all mortars are losing their offensive distinctions then the soviet mortar will undoubtedly be king with a 6 man crew and vet 0 flares so something will have to give. In: COH2 Balance

Its ptrs is still an AT asset, the only hand AT the soviet can get at that and they lack burst damage so deflection damage makes sense really. Ptrs is the Molotov of AT weapons- it WILL hurt you, but its strictly area denial. If you sit there and get plinked away you clearly deserve to lose the unit. That said toning it down slightly might be a good move, we will see. In: COH2 Balance

As for now why not let it increase its barrage range substantially when garrisoned so it can be used defensively without garrison or offensively with one at the cost of taking minimum 210mp extra for duration? Why should pioneers get extra vision if a munitions scouting ability on the soviet mortar is unfair? I mean... "Combat" "engineers" need something regardless of what happens to the mortar.. And they are also the only nainline across 5 factions that doesnt have a weapon without a doctrine, surely it can be accepted that in the occasion they do pick a ppsh doctrine they are a bit more effecient to compensate for being worse 100% of the time they dont pick those doctrines? It at least has a drawback (range) which others dont (or a negligible difference anyways) In SBP they are demoing it anyways (by that i mean "adjusting" it out of the game like they did the demo charge) reducing its mid range dps slightly would be preferable or making it more expensive to match other investments since soviet float munitions like nobody else but i guess removing it from the game works too. Thread: Guards need a adjustment2 May 2018, 04:32 AM Obers just come too late and have to contend with superpowered (at that point) allied squads because of vet and weapons. Falls i alwats thought were fine.... They arent conventional and dont do the "attack move throufh the enemy and 1 squad army the enemy" that you expect from paying that much for a squad but i dont think they are BAD. In: COH2 Balance

Buff their STGs against garrisons maybe even make it an upgrade path (make em cheaper to start and start with a different complement of weapons) that reduces target size slightly as well. Make em proper STURMpios. Hell even a building clearing ability with a debuff or something on sturms would be nice... In: COH2 Balance

Given how many changes there were (especially to guards), it's pretty hard to keep track of. My track record for recalling stats has been pretty abysmal lately so if you said it was always .97 i would have belived you. Glad to know im not completely out of though! Thanks In: COH2 Balance
