Thread: M4A3 76mm Sherman V E8 Sherman26 Jul 2020, 20:43 PM The problem with the E8 is two fold. Firstly. It's an AT tank. No at tank will ever really be attractive for usf because of the Jackson. Why get an AT tank to brawl when you have the Jackson that makes it no contest? Why would you pick a doctrine for a unit you wouldn't pick if it was stock? Seriously you slap any and every single allied AT vehicle in the game into usf major building and not a single one would ever get built because you have the Jackson Second- the Panther. The Panther was supposed to be an escalation of tech vehicle. When your p4 was out matched by volume you aim for a Panther whuch could take the extra punch and dish it back. But panthers are a dime a dozen and easier to get than ever. This leaves Sherman AT variants, even if you ever would want to get a non Jackson AT vehicle, or obsolete. If the Jackson perhaps wasn't designed to counter every size of armour and instead just heavy Armour LIKE panthers, you may see the occasional E8, 76mm, m10 but until that day, which will never come, half of the usf call in armour's only job is to reduce the number of doctrinal abilities in their respective commanders. Win win. For the Jaeger armour maybe put a stuka at strafe. Still strong but less flexible and still in line with the commander theme. Arguably more in line. Less rational for the choice than the isu changes but it does make the commander much more niche which in turn makes it more of a choice as it would be markedly less flexible yet not a whack less powerful. Making it a weaker version but give it more range would make if usefull. Even current version is unable to fuk most squats, so where it the problem? Why not lower its HP but increase its frontal armor? Making it something funny, not OP. The Avre is fine because it's doing what it's supposed to. It looks OP because it's being compared to a hunk of dog shit. Both of these units trade constant pressure for high impact strikes. They both need to reward hitting to justify their cost. Avre is doing this, ST is not. This is not an issue with the avre it is an issue with the ST. compare to the likes of kv-2, isu and to a lesser extent even the Scott, or 105 Sherman. These units justify their less reliable output by having follow up shots. This model doesn't work with the Avre and ST. the problem with the ST is similar to the issue with the Brummbär. Knocking of range on units that need range due to the inability to track is devistating. There is a reason units that only point in one direction shoot further than the enemy can see. They are trash if they can't. Either give the ST more range or at least give it back world piercing so it can actually hit things besides the ground when it does manage to find a target and get through its 20 minute aim time without the enemy moving. EHP as well as what they are fighting play a big role. what about them starting with the ppshs as now but having upgrade paths for various offensive weapons? stgs, lmg42 and maybe svts? give them more flexibility in their ambush potential In: COH2 Balance

It's even less acceptable with the target size nerfs to mediums As was already said, the crit doesn't swing the engagement any more than any other RNG really. The shot that dealt the damage could easily have been a bounce or a miss also. Then make it a gun loader crit or turret lock. Those accomplish similar effects while being temporary I'm on board. It was my suggestion after all... How many times do you need it explained to you that lowering the threshold isn't removing rng? Even if we did remove it altogether, are you really trying to tell me there would be no more rng left in CoH? When standard AT essentially takes 25% health away lowering the threshold effective DOES remove it. As it is frankly the impact only adds more dynamics to the engagements. Additionally I'm not sure why you are being so hostile towards me. Surely we can can respectfully disagree and discuss as we have over many things of the many years of sharing the forums together In: COH2 Balance

Nerf Avre, it is op as fu*k. 2nd. redesign Sturmtiger into an useful middle-range arty, like Calliope but with one shell like (and NOT same) to B4 with weaker stats. All over, sturmtiger could get less speed, rotation, reload and acc. So it becomes like a mobile B4 (ps: not same) Avre is fine its the ST that is lacking. St just needs some of its neutering undone. We put back one nut and at call it that. Even if it had the same range it does now but say pierced the world at least the shells would go where they are wanted AND crafty players could still ambush. It doesn't need an overhaul, we just need to accept that that patch designed to make it useless worked too well. In: COH2 Balance

It would need many nerfs to work that way, and yes I als said, that it can have different ranges. So yuu want a complete redesign... I don't feel that's necessary. I especially do not think that making it into a tiger durability sexton mounting a b4 is the way to go. It certainly shouldn't be this much in discussion. It basicly needs it last round of nerfs undone or at least part undone. At least return the world piercing removal so that it can be used without fucking detonating on fence posts. In: COH2 Balance

They are not supposed to be obersoldaten but an annoyance to the enemy to take their attention and divert resources from the front. That said if they get buffs it should be to their vet, specifically improving their ambush power. Perhaps even increased durability when attacking from ambush camo. They are very cheap and have much utility so any buffs they receive need to be extremely focused to prevent over use. Another thing they might be able to make use of would be the ability to construct a forward reinforcement point so that they can stay behind enemy lines after an ambush. In: COH2 Balance
