He'd have to be pretty delusional to think that the Maxim is better than the MG34. I tried a 120 in a match today that was infantry heavy on Elst. It got no kills in around 30 minutes of playing. It costs about 40% more than a standard mortar, while having a much slower fire rate and the same damage, just over a little bit larger area. It's the worst mortar in the game. That is misleading, all mortar have the same damage and 120mm has a larger AOE, the AOE is not "little bit larger". It x150%. Use the 120 mm vs static targets like OKW trucks and you will see how good it is. In: COH2 Balance

If you have other ideas how make cons PLAYABLE in game, instead of this Mobile Reserve upgrade (or maybe you have ideas for WHOLE redesign of unit - that make it playable, without current abilities and techs), it will be good to hear. Because no one want again play only in T1 penals. I think you remember the last champs (1vs1 and 2vs2) all SU almost every game go to penals not cons. The problem is that Penal/ST44 VGs are Op and not that conscripts are bad... It is the Penal that need a redesign and not conscripts. In: COH2 Balance

Yes in a 1v1, the KV-1 had a better than coin toss chance to beat a Panzer 4 H particularly without vet. But the Panzer 4 had better AI and better AT with AA capability and more mobility costing 25 fuel less. It was definitely more cost efficient and flexible. Test KV-1 vs PzIV both H and J would win the majority of times. It is better tank. (AA capability is not really that important), the KV-1 now has similar AI without any MU cost. The KV-1 has enough AT to beat the PzIV and it does not need any more. (edited) In: COH2 Balance

Some garands where also used from RAF and home guard. Any way there is a De Lisle carbine in the game files that was used by commandos I have not checked if it factional. In: COH2 Balance

People simply though T-34/85 was a better choice and they where right. It was a better (maybe still is) but that has to do with T-34/85 and not the KV-1. Urban defense is a very powerful commander and the only way to make this one meta would be to make it OP. One has to start by nerfing Urban defense ore removing KV-2 from that commander... Stormjäger You are correct about spec ops, but that doesn’t mean it would apply everywhere, especially for the soviets who rely on commander picks to compete. In general I think factions with several meta commanders like OKW are in a good spot and shouldn’t be nerfed, while factions crutching on one or two commanders could use a nerf if it’s balanced by other buffs. Let me explain this another way, T-34/76 got a massive buff to hmg DPS and currently has a similar DPS to the PZIV 3 hmg that actually PzIV has to pay for. By accident the same buff went to T-34/76 which was designed to be more of an AT tank. Then people started arguing that T-34/85 is better the KV-1 which in return got significant buffs. And now people claim that these unit should be available to even more commanders. That is the essence of powercreep. One should actually make both the T-34/85 and Kv-1 less cost efficient since both units are far superior to the PzIV H. If that result to lower Soviet win rates than the faction should be buffed and not the doctrinal units. In: COH2 Balance
