okay thanks for tips, i play re spam just for fun, not as serious competitive mindset. Only real reason i won that time was that my opponent was really passive player and didn't make much effort trying to keep pressure up.
Also LT tech is sometimes better for RE heavy builds. This is because the LT provides a free damage dealer to supplement REs and the suppression platforms (HT or 50 Cal) are important for holding territory and giving the REs a good edge in gunfights. (Typically your gonna want to atleast give 1 RE zooks anyways so Capt isnt too necessary.) |
His opener in 2v2 right now seems to be hmg 1 tommy and a carrier with a wasp. Then engineers or a sniper depending on the situation. I try to compliment this with 4 cons and an hmg if they are blobing followed by 2 su76. This is all the plan going in but it of course changes and we have decent communication throughout regarding what the enemy is putting out and what we are doing to counter it. Our commander picks usually try to fill in gaps of the other. I will get a commander that gives vision if he is going heavy offmap support.
Get atleast one tommy before getting an MG, unless on very specific maps T-T-Mg-T/ T-T-T-Tech/ T-T-T-MG are the most viable 3 starting options
Id say a first build MG is generally meh unless you guys decided to double team a side and hes solely support your con heavy builds. All other situations Tommy Build Orders are more flexible. |

5Th man USF rifle needs a buff to not die within the first 3 seconds of combat and reduce the overall dps .
I wouldn't be surprised if there is some super deep bug in which all the damage gets absorbed into one model for rifles. It would explain why the first model drops so fast while the other 4 are capable of soaking up damage. Plus Ive had rifles in which should definetly not have a dropped model if the damage was spread out more evenly.
Also the reason I bring up other games is b/c I feel like COH2 should balance in a specific way other games have been done, thats the main reason why. |

Where any of you get the idea that axis get more rewarded for squad preservation is just plain dumb, good luck reinvesting 120 muni into infantry over and over again so they can get rewiped by brumm/werfer.

Me and Chino had a good discussion on this topic and I find that if you prefer balancing based on the top percent and the majority your opinion on balance is different. Personally coming from a moba background balancing through the top percent is my preferred method but a majority standpoint has its merits

From a statistical point of a view it is exactly the opposite. The top and bottom values are disregarded and only the 90% of values (Gauss) are used.
Yet most games balance around its top percentile, why? Because these player know how to play the game and understand the game mechanics while mid to low Elo have other variables that can cause imbalance. Generally when considering balance, balancing for the top percent allows the lower Elo to follow suit as the top percent always define meta anyways.

The need of Mortar was more at gameplay level, literally how to diversify USF early game. At that time the faction was considered as the more boring to play because of this lack of diversity.
The Pershing doesn't bring balance, it brings here again diversity in gameplay, they haven't make it heavy in fact.
Removing smoke from riflemen is, in my opinion a failure, nobody is going to pay to use smoke on RE or with his officers. But the bitching around it was heavy and I suspect the mod team did it to release some pressure from their shoulders with the Axisfolks.

So pretty much game exists on for tournaments, top players, there are no different maps, no different situations, no different skill levels and playerbases.
Yeah, i'm pretty sure that tournament represents game balance perfectly.
Also I would like to remind you that axis\allies were winning\loosing even during the most fucked up patches, where ppl agreed entirely that X thing is broken.
Considering these are the best players in COH2 these tournaments are the best data we have to conclude balance.
Aka basically all competitive games balance itself around the power of its top 1-5% player base.
Also Brits are literally being propped up by the strength of the Centaur. |
