switchable shells would make the JP4 too good... its good at its role of forcing out allied heavy TDS... giving it switchable shells aswell without a downside might make it too strong...
I mean you can make the switching take 10 seconds or something, so it requires forethought
We could also nerf its survivability a little if its offense was improved. It has armor and target size that dont compare to other TDs because its main gun is also worse
Edit: Yup PanzerFutz, my thoughts exactly |
If the vet is swapped you could. Replacing the armor gained with +160HP, making it go from 560HP > 720HP would make it more survivable than making it have PIV levels of armor.
Yup and I dont think it would be too strong given where the buff is. Vet 3 stug spam could be scary, but youd still have to get them to that lvl in the first place |
I like the gist of the idea
What about making it just switchable shells? And reducing the pen buff a little bit, I also think +110 is a bit high
M4C HVAP shells work similarly iirc. Pen buff with longer reload |
More damage per shot but less damage overall due to super bad reload. SU 85 (5.7/2.1 and 6.8/2.5 with vet) is also faster than FF (5.3/1.6 and 1.8 with vet). Again FF receives no significant speed buff with vet, same as penetration. I wonder why?
On penetration I do not have an answer for either, but the turret still factors into mobility. Positioning a firefly to shoot is much easier than an su85. The FF does get turret rotation with vet
And saying SU85 is slow is wrong, it has more top speed than Jackson at vet 3. Jackson is much faster without vet but gets no vet speed bonus so the SU85 ends up faster in the end.
Okay but same as above, Jackson has a turret so its speed is more usable |
Not just HMGs, Incremental Accuracy (on the weapon) or a Received Accuracy penalty (on the blobbed squads) would also allow all normal weapons to deal additional damage, to simulate that missed shots would still hit other squads in close proximity. This would help make fighting blobs a bit easier as it would help equalize the pure volume of fire advantage blobs have.
True, I just feel like somehow the MGs should inspire and extra level of fear in blobs. AOE suppression helps control them in this game, but would be nice if it could be more punishing in terms of losses inflicted |
What IF, we swap vet2/vet3 on the Stug.
Give the higher Rof boost and mobility sooner and leave the armor (which is mostly irrelevant for the Stug) and smaller RoF as vet 3.
Why not turn the armor buff into a health one while we're at it? In vet 3 |
What you forget is that SU85 also has better penetration which is weird because the Firefly should have the better gun considering price and mobility.
I get the price point, but what do you mean about mobility? Su85 and firefly are both pretty slow, but FF at least has turret
It also has more damage per shot and that improves with vet, so its gun is better in some sense anyway |
Ok at this point you are simply personally attacking me publicly and you are completely off topic.
Since you clearly reason you have personal issues with me I suggest you use private messages. Have a nice day and bye bye.
Still waiting on your balance suggestion. No personal issue, just pointing out your hypocrisy in this thread and that it takes away from your argument...
Buff Panther penetration? P4 penetration? Pak penetration? Do you still remember the topic? |
But that's something for a CoH3, because CoH2 is too far gone at this point (as in, no more major changes allowed by Relic), it would take a hell of a lot of trying and testing, and I'm not sure if the engine could even support it.
I desperately hope we see something like that in coh3, assuming we get to see a coh3
MGs shouldn't just suppress blobs, they should rip them to shreads. Some way of allowing that without having MGs melt individual squads would be really awesome |
I did not compare the PzIV with heavies premium or super heavies. I simply pointed out that they outclass the PzIV
And the exact same it true for panther, axis heavies, and super heavies against allied mediums. Difference is panther is stock, none of those are unless your brits
As wish I will rephrase, Ostheer need mediums tank to attack more than allies do.
Yeah and allies need TDs more than axis do... You have succeeded in pointing out that the factions are not identical |
