not including abilities that provide substantial bonuses to the stats in display is misleading. As is the claim that usf doesn't have anything in the 150-260 range (the brits only have the 6lb) when the 57mm can breach those values.
I think it's important to show all the pertinent information to paint the fullest picture.
Agreed, I didnt read too much into them leaving that out since OP also suggested cost increase for the Jackson. I think if any US AT gets buffed, it should be coming with a jackson nerf, thats definitely important
Ideally it would be less good against mediums, and the buff to other AT/new stock unit would be focused towards that. Hardly an original idea on my part, have seen similar suggestions around the forum lately besides this thread |
Doesn't the 57mm AP fill the role of intermediate AT?
Doesn't every AT gun in the game fill the role of intermediate AT? Yet still everyone else has it in vehicle form as well
The entire point is to have intermediate AT that cant be clicked away by rocket arty |
1) change the damage back to 200 but nerf the reload, now before u bring out the pitch fork saying it would be useless like before i like to bring the latest rework for panther as to why now this viable, as they nerfed the panther armor but buffed the HP to 960, the advantage that a 200 damage shell gives is the possibility to balance a TD vs heavy while not destroying the medium match ups and it's very simple, a normal medium has 640 health so 4 shoot from a normal tank, with a 200 damage shell u would still need 4 shoot, now u would think this a straight nerf but, look at all other match ups for anything over the 640 threshold, panther 960 hp so 6 shoots but with 200 damage that's 5, 1 less, tiger 1040 hp so 7 shoots but with 200 damage it's 6 (or 5 and an at nade), and so on for higher hp, this even works against the JP4 as the vet gives it a total of 800 hp so 1 less shoot with 200 damage
Im with you here. I really dont think it comes across as a straight nerf regardless of how anyone tries to spin it. 200dmg with lower ROF is a buff with an offsetting nerf. Anybody with half a brain should be able to see that as a style change
The original change to 160 and higher ROF was also a style change, but the ROF was simply lowered too much
Only thing is 200dmg can still be a change for mediums. 1 M36 vs 1 P4 it doesnt change anything, but add literally anything else to the fight and that P4 will die faster. 1 penetrating ptrs shot and that p4 is dying in 3 more shots from the Jackson. In team games the Jackson might still dominate the same way it does now. Just something to consider |
I'm just gonna shoot in the dark here, but if we removed the "point blank" engine critical which is a stupid ability that either doesn't function or doesn't damage the engine
Just a very finnicky ability. The stuart tries to re-position itself if you're not in just the right spot to use it, which always becomes a pathing nightmare. If you can get close enough to rear armor before you use it it usually goes through
The timed damage boost with lower ROF is a cool idea though, would happily trade it for point blank |
Rework the stuart would be my choice. Increase its cost and make it better against medium tanks. Right now its abilities are the only thing it can really contribute to fighting medium tanks. Those abilities are good, but you can only use 1 at a time and they still only do so much
Edit: US should only get AT buffs if Jackson is nerfed (cost or performance), I agree that should be assumed |

Usf doesn't need an E8 stock, it would make the 76mm and m10s as redundant as the current Jackson does. However improving the pen of the AP rounds and reducing the AI of them on the 75mm would work.
Evn as a further separate shell (3 types then, regular, AP and HE to highlight and promote the versatility of the sherman) but there is no need for a beautiful doctrinal unit to become stock in this case.
If the E8 was made stock however I'd treat it like the KT just so it doesn't completely shut out all other sherman variants and lock it behind a complete tech, then the 76mm would still have a spot as an inferior but more easily unlocked variant that only requires teching to major
The Jackson only makes all these mediums redundant because it was apparently decided that the US weren't allowed to have anything with more than 800hp (until recent Pershing change)
Im fine with that, but if NONE of your tanks can soak any damage, the Jackson is gonna be the way that it is and the doc premium mediums will feel redundant
I think the ez8 is special enough, but i dont see much of a reason to get m4cs |
playing allies is no fun. Where is the strength?
Very weird sentence to read from the fuhrer himself |
Those are "Sabot Rounds" not HVAP and thus my confusion.
M1 with Sabot has 195 max range which higher than the Pak while having better ROF and cone and Brummbar has the same frontal armor as KV-8 and lower rear.
Aha I didnt know they had a different name
Yes I agree with you in either instance anyway, just cleared up what he was trying to say. Brum and panther armor have been lowered quite a bit so with Sabot rounds the AT gun does plenty well, especially with take aim too. Tbh I felt like it did fine before the armor nerfs |
Woo hoo! 2 free vetos for 2v2 for removing these abominations of maps!
Only 1 really since losing two maps takes our total vetoes from 5 to 4
Unless, like me, you had both on veto, which means I've got 1 free veto.
Yes I know, I also had them both on veto |
