The community have been submitting great ideas, and the balance team have been hard at work revamping ten commanders for everyone to enjoy come the end of this year. To achieve Good Spot TM status, we would love to get feedback from players on how the new revamped commanders play and feel.

The Commander Preview 2vs2 will be taking place on Saturday the 13th of October at 7AM PST/ 3PM BST. Casting legend Tightrope will be covering the action, and there are some cool prizes up for grabs. If your team does take part, feedback on the mod would be super appreciated. So, grab the preview, message your wingman and get playing!

However, in case that wasn’t enough, we can tell you that a major 2vs2 tournament is on the cards for early December, with official qualifiers taking place in November! Get practicing…by playing in this tourney :) Official details on that to come soon.

Since this tournament will focus more on fun and practice instead of competitiveness (I assume, pls correct me if thats wrong), why are there only 4 maps in the pool? :guyokay: Cuz watching the 100th game in a row on Elst Outskirts or Crossing in the Woods can become a bit repetitive as a viewer on Twitch.

And about Vaux Farmlands... I like the map, but it isn't really a competitive map anyway so ...

Zarok is dead or something, but I'd love to watch this.

Feedback can be skewed or less accurate if we dont play on competitive maps

That's true, though it may be wise to ensure testing is done on all automatch maps as players are going to be subjected to those maps and whatever changes are finalized.

I really hope the efforts of the commander revamps doesn't result in more map specific commanders. To me, that's marching in the entirely opposite direction from improving dynamic gameplay.

well tbh feedback is already skewed since youre doing only revamped commanders vs revamped commanders, instead of doing revamped commanders vs existing viable commanders.

It would be interesting to see how UKF and USF perform now, especially the former. But I doubt that without mobile indirect fire that's also not doctrinal and doesn't cost fuel the UKF will be extremely more playable.

Yes, the snare(s) are very much welcome, but there is still the point of a mobile mortar left to solve in a very easy and simple way already suggested by the community numerous times. I don't think there is a UKF player that won't agree on this either.

I totally missed that. That will certainly force some off-meta games for the tourney. :S

I mean, I totally get that the intent is to maximize testing the functionality of the revamp commanders. If we're considering this to be a sort of 'closed beta' stage in the process then sure, absolutely. Got to make sure things actually work as intended before really testing their viability.

But if the intent is to gauge balance or effects on metagame then, well, yeah... :|

We test the commanders and go through revisions constantly.[ which also includes current meta game] This tournament is a great way to introduce people who want to put their theory into practice. This gives more exposure and a chance for relevant feedback based on a more competitive environment. Yeah, Lemon is right that it is already skewed because of that ommission but the point of this tournament is to get feedback on new commanders primarily and you can only do that by disallowing current commanders. I hope you guys understand

Is there an overview anywhere with the faction wins?

From what I've seen in Tightrope's casting replays, Allies won convincingly a lot of or even most times. As opposed to 1v1 balance (GCS2 stats), it seems Allied factions are much better balanced in team games which is something I've always thought. I think USF and UKF are much stronger when they can concentrate power on the much narrower front lines of team games.

Seeing as right now we only have GCS2 stats as an indication of the current game balance, it would be very interesting to see if the 2v2 tourney tells a different tale or not.

Bear in mind that was not meta tournament, but commander revamp - pretty much all of them played with unfamiliar commanders they would not normally pick or even had in loudouts with exception to OKWs overwatch goliath and elite armors ST shenanigans.

While stats will be interesting, they're going to be hardly indicative of balance, given tournaments limitations of commanders.

True, but it's better than nothing. I wouldn't use the CRP tourney stats to directly contradict the GCS2 ones but they would certainly be able to nuance them.

--> Less Brumbär was on the field

--> callin new kv2 :)

reality is that axis is way better in 2v2 than 1v1 on most maps... allies won lots of games in the commander tournament because the axis revamp doctrines are terrible.

I see what I can do, but frankly, any team tournament organized on battlefy is a painful to deal with for me...

Moreover, looks like only the last couple of rounds are BO3 and according to Battlefy the final even hasn't been played yet?

Ok,just using the BO3 rounds... That means quarter finals and semi finals. Apparently, the finals didn't happen yet; according to the brackets the game for 3rd did happen, but I haven't found them so far. Furthermore I only have 2 games of COHEXPERTS vs. IVA (according to the brackets there should be 3).

So, we are talking about solid 14 games here
