The problem with the AVRE is that it can just come wandering into your lines, shoot at a KT or Tiger or Elefant and take away half of its health, then reverse away taking minimal damage. If you try and chase it, good players have it supported by AT Guns, Tommies with PIAT, Rifles with AT nade etc etc. If you chase, it takes so long to kill it that you will almost inevitably lose whatever you're chasing it with.
AVRE deals 440 damage, units you've mentioned have more then 880 and if you actually allowed to be hit by it, be less afk next time.
How come he can come up, shoot you, hit and move away, but you're incapable of kiting it? It doesn't have a lot range and does not shoot instantly, why good players have it supported with AT, but your nooby heavies are just diving with zero micro or support?

A unit like that already exists in game and is utterly useless.

I feel the problem is with light vehicles as a whole. Light vehicles, across the board are too good. They all should die to a stiff breeze, making infantry tactics and positioning are lot more crucial. Nerf the T70, Puma, Luchs, AEC, 222 and Stuart into the ground and the game will be better off.

They used to die to a stiff breeze.
During that time meta was infantry spam into med armor rush with nothing in between, because lights were not viable at all.
Lights are shock units, if you anticipate and get AT, you'll hardcounter them before they even arrive, but if you don't, you'll feel pain for neglecting tech and preparing for mid game.
2-3 mines and an AT gun shut down effectively most lights.

Actually Centaur remains one of the most cost efficient AI tanks.
You need to play with the unit, because something tells me you have not seen it in a single game post nerfs and instead rely exclusively on stat sheets. Again.

Mmmm. According to this, you have to invest 50 MU on a MG for your P4 to have the same DPS of a T34/76, (which is already 35 FU cheaper than the P4)... This does not sounds very balanced at all by Relic.
P4s also got more armor, is more accurate(scatter) and got better penetration.
P4 actually hits with main gun and T34 is not that effective in armor engagements unless massed.

If UKF get snares, Ost should get non-doc puma. Tit for tat. All factions have a weakness (except USF)
It doesn't work that way.
Sov and Ost are factions with very solid cores and varied unit that can adapt to everything without the need to resort to any single doctrine now.
3 other factions solely resolve around gimmicks and are stripped from basic units in favor of these gimmicks, however balance modders, not knowing better, got almost completely rid of these gimmicks, not giving anything in return - in USF case that resulted in buffed jackson and need to have T0 mortar.
In OKW case it changed AT volk blobs into AI volk blobs.
In Brit case it obliterated the faction and to admit to struggling against brits this patch is same as screaming "I R N00BLET" on in game chat. |
I dont think that would make things more consistant. A DPS based primarily around mg damage would overpreform when it first hits the map due to little to no crater formation yet, and preform worse as the game progresses as cover becomes more avaliable. Furthermore, that would be a huge buff for AT inf in urban maps with abundant cover from the start of the game.
Tanks SHOULD be a MAJOR threat to infantry with no AT support.
You'd rather RNG insta wipes then consistent damage?
And I'm not talking about 40 DPS far either here.
20 far, 40 close with all MGs would do the trick, only issue that would need to be resolved is the scaling, cutting off some reload time into MG accuracy would be needed to counter act infantry rec acc vet. |
All teams should have their mgs buffed instead of relying on RNG aoe for AI...
I've been mentioning this for a long time now.
But people prefer OHK main cannon hits I guess as I got maybe 2 people to back me up on that. |
