One thing I find with OKW is that they are quite defensive in the way their units work.
Much of this is due to a lack of turreted tanks, which makes assaulting/flanking a little awkward. Even the KT is used more like an assault gun than a flanking tank.
This can make protecting, or attacking flanks tricky sometimes. But defending ussually pretty easy with flak HQ, medic HQ and repair HQ.
So what I like to do is play on this tendancy to defend and use ranged units to strike further afield. So either Stuka, or SturmTiger.
Either of those units can cause mass damage just out of reach of your other units without them over extending. Then they can be pulled back to the safety of your defensive zone to reload/recharge.
I particularly like the Sturm Tiger.
By using these tactics, you can improve the utility of Jadg's, Rakketens, flak HQ etc.. because now your enemy either has to assault your heavily defended position, or else continue to be bombarded.

Maxims: really frustrating to face many of them early game. But we dont want to see them nerfed hard. I really like the idea of increased build time, so for example when the 1st maxim comes out early game, you go to flank it and the second one is suddenly there to shut down your flank... This is so frustrating, a longer build time would reduce this and encourage cons more to support the maxims . Dont forget tier structure build time and starting rss were tweaked a LOT to allow much earlier fielding of T2 units... so a build time increase would soften this effect while still keeping those builds viable. In a mixed build like 4 cons, 2 maxims, longer build time on maxims wont have a large impact, but in 3-4 maxim builds, it will start to slow down its field presence and make flanks viable. If there is a model reduction, maybe down to 5. I think 4 would be too harsh. Possibly a slight MP increase of 10-20 MP to also promote not spamming them? In: COH2 Balance |

Terrrrrible test. This is the equivelant to standing a squad of Obers next to some shock troops and saying the Obers are under performing because the shocks win and Obers are anti inf. In fact this test is great at showing how tactical use of units is a must in this game. The only reason the panther won in most of those was the slower rotation speed, so other tanks got 1st shot. If you get outmanouvered at close range GG... why didnt you kite with excellent RANGE, ARMOUR and PENETRATION.. ![]() I think what people do when they get a panther, and Ive done it myself, is think, right awesome, I have high armour and speed, I can just stomp my enemy with it, and get very recless and carless with it. But if you play cautiously with it, using combined fire arms of shreks/ATguns as a fall back / flank protection, what do you really expect your enemy to do then to take it out.. their armour will be constantly scared off and forced to retreat, then you need to win the inf engagements. I agree you dont want to stick to only one tier with spending no fuel.. it will cost you too much. You either need to do: T2 > T3 T3 > T4 T2 > T4 Getting T4 is obviously good for Obers, and the flak HQ itself. But going T2 then T3 I think is nice because you can get a puma for not much more fuel than having gone T4 building.. a puma will have synegry with the HEAT rounds as you point out. It also gives you repairs for your P4s and rss conversion. It only requires that you rely on T1 inf more.. but do we really NEED Obers when we have P4 anti inf..? In: COH2 Gameplay |

Right. The thing that is really pissing me off with Maxims vs OKW, is you can see your opponent has all Maxim bulletins and is clearly going to spam them, yet this does not help you, because THERE IS NO EASY WAY to counter many maxims. The ISG can help, but comes late, when you have little map control left. Ive just tried spamming volks, and its a real uphil struggle to get anywhere. All this, just for spamming maxims, its all TOO EASY. When someone heavily invests in one type of unit, there should be a clear hard counter.. its how this game works.. but right now, even when you know from the start of the game whats coming, you cant plan for it, its just lame as. Because they feel cooler than Ost. I just find Ost uninspiring to play as. Their tactical options seem bland to me. OKW has much more flavour and razamataz ![]() Im starting to suspect that T2 T3 can be really powerful with this strat, obviously repairs and rss convert is helpful for the P4s, but you could also grab a Puma to transition more smoothly into them and after the P4s a Stuka to counter AT guns if you look after the P4s... This will require Volk blobbing as an inf force.. but at least they seem more viable now. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Yeah you will always fall behind slightly in tech, just like calling dual T34/85s, but the point is that the flak HQ is a very solid defence in its own right, backed up by a Rakketen and shreks you can hold your ground fine until 9 CP. Im finding the fuel not that hard to get after grabbing T4. As always, you will probably struggle more if he hard harrasses both flanks. Im not a very big fan of Ost, so I for one am really enjoying playing with a turreted tank which can kill inf LOL! imagine that.. In: COH2 Gameplay |
