Might not be the answer you are looking for, but... sturmtiger?
iS2 is slowish and big, so easier to hit. And sturmtiger works well with defensive units like raketens cos u can strike with the strum then fall back to a defended position which sometimes causes the enemy to try chase it down.

Yeah!! Its def useful.
Its easier to hit with than a stuka, and deals much better damage to vehicles.
Use something to scout the FoW and use it at its max range to make it more of a surprise.
I love the fact it can hit HARD, yet is pretty durable. OKW is good at defending, so you can always have a nice spot for it to fall back to and reload.
This unit is soo good at destorying whole units, regularly. |
That bonus is a pretty big deal on maps like semois. |
and 9 times out of 10 with maxim spam your looking at T34s.. so maybe Jagd's are best in most cases so long as you give them a nice base of Rakketens and shreks to protect them. |
like a calliope( non doctinal) as the USF stuka
none doc Calliope? lolol |
Stuka is going to come too late to be your 1st counter to maxims, you will want an ISG, which even that comes kinda late, but if you can hold onto a corner of the map then get a flak HQ to further secure your territory, Obers will kill maxims quite well at max range. |
SturmTiger is not Artillery... it is a direct fire weapon.
Regadless.. it fills a very similar role to arty, and a very much needed one for the OKW. |
They have many advanatages as they have many large disadvantages. Like most factions, only more accute. What they have works very well, what they are missing leaves larger holes than in other armies.
If you have problems vs them, you need to play as them to see their flaws. |
wtf, how has nobody mentioned Sturm Tiger?
Its simply bad ass vs blobs. Id rather than one than a priest any day of the week. |
One thing I find with OKW is that they are quite defensive in the way their units work.
Much of this is due to a lack of turreted tanks, which makes assaulting/flanking a little awkward. Even the KT is used more like an assault gun than a flanking tank.
This can make protecting, or attacking flanks tricky sometimes. But defending ussually pretty easy with flak HQ, medic HQ and repair HQ.
So what I like to do is play on this tendancy to defend and use ranged units to strike further afield. So either Stuka, or SturmTiger.
Either of those units can cause mass damage just out of reach of your other units without them over extending. Then they can be pulled back to the safety of your defensive zone to reload/recharge.
I particularly like the Sturm Tiger.
By using these tactics, you can improve the utility of Jadg's, Rakketens, flak HQ etc.. because now your enemy either has to assault your heavily defended position, or else continue to be bombarded. |
