Thread: New ATI Radeon RX 580 card, getting blackscreen in-game4 Aug 2018, 21:05 PM Does the system work with other games? I would try Vertical Sync (V sync) on. The purpose of V sync is to minimize screen tearing as you are trying to update the image on the screen before it is done drawing it. So you get discontinuity lines on the screen. Should never go black though. I do not have experience with the different monitor syncs from AMD/nVidia so not sure if screen blackout is possible. Quick search shows people getting black screens when using FREESYNC in various games. EDIT: Looks like your monitor supports FREESYNC to 1ms according to Newegg. nVidia would not use it since their version is G-Sync. AMD uses FreeSync. That is where I would start. Thread: Steppes4 Aug 2018, 17:04 PM Sturmpanther found another issue on Steppes. The classic sight block on a hill problem. Northwest side of the island, the hill is too large so units shoot each other UNDER the sight blockers. It requires additional units to sight for the attacking unit as it will fail the 2D FOW test. (A) Smooth the hill? (B) Add SHOT BLOCKERS underground? (C) Both A and B. (D) Do nothing? Discussion of the issue on other maps. In: Summer patch 2018
Thread: Rzhev Winter 3v34 Aug 2018, 16:34 PM New version is out (6) Rzhev Rosbone (v3) 1. Fixed bases so pershing can exit anywhere in base. Did not take as much as I thought it would to get it working. Mostly just readjusted the base bunkers. Base bunkers are a nightmare. each faction has different bunkers. And even in the same faction, the bunkers are not always where you put them. FOR COH3: Would be nice if base defenses had a much larger shooting distance. The bunker ARC makes them better for being placed in the rear of the base. However, they do not shoot far enough to cover the USF base. 2. Removed a house (BLUE). It overlooked the base and the new MG bunker placement. Added hedge sight blockers so remaining house cant shoot into the base(RED). Added tree and hedge so base bunker does not shoot into the remaining building(RED). 3. Added a new path out of the north base (YELLOW) and added sight blockers to reduce the base MGs shooting into the play area (RED). 4. Found more hills and smoothed them. They are everywhere... Thread: (6) Oka River Frontline4 Aug 2018, 04:28 AM Updated but still v1 (6) Oka Rosbone (v1) 1. Munition placed back on left side. 2. For the east, I Focused on the church too much. The buildings around it (1,2) are balanced at about 218m to each base. The right side is now balanced as well with buildings (1,2). The right side distances are close to 230m with building 1 still farther away from north base by a few meters. Buildings 1+2 were spaced apart so the will not interact with each other. They act more as a line-in-the-sand fall back position. They both cover the fuel. Buildings 1+2 were rotated so each has 3 windows facing the fuel. They both can be attacked by the sheds nearby. 3. Cover around the VP was better balanced moving the truck to the approx center. 4. Cleaned up the cemetary area. Removing the truck seemed best. Added a few more headstones so there is splattered green cover everywhere. 5. Smoothed out a lot of hills. They were everywhere. 6. Opened a path by the river so North can access the southern cutoff. Matched the distance with the northern cutoff. In: Summer patch 2018
Thread: Rzhev Winter 3v33 Aug 2018, 23:41 PM Latest Version (6) Rzhev Rosbone (v2) LATEST BIG CHANGES 1. The other big imbalance on this map is that the North has to cross red cover near the frontline of the map. North red cover not changed. South red cover removed from right in front of the base. Added roads that lead to the new TP and then curves to the south (BLUE). This creates the red cover balance shown by (GREEN lines) Another shot to show how the new road changed the map layout. Small house moved south a little. Added another break in the fence (YELLOW) because the new fence was made slightly longer. Added a sight blocker by right VP to help flank MGs (AQUA). 2. Modified base MGs. Both bases had MGs that covered the closest point to the base. North point was moved as well to get clear of MG arc. The bases are too small for a 3v3 so large vehicles can only get out of the base in two places. SHOULD I FIX THIS? In: Summer patch 2018

Its special gamestyle on this map. If people hate to play a 1vs1 in a 3vs3 for a short time. They can veto the map tbh^^. I get your point As I described in Whiteflashs new Nexus thread, a good map gives the player options. Crossroads has extra points so you do not have to push in one direction. If left looks bad, then go right. It is that simple. Stick your head thru the sight blockers and it looks good, then keep going. Else fall back behind the sight blockers to safety and try a different strategy. Moving the Munition to the right gives the players options. They can double up the left side or the right side. Then push into the middle. It opens up new strategy possibilties. But as usual, it is just you and I thinking about it. We need a tie breaker (as if my say had any value). In: Summer patch 2018

The 10th cutpoint (5 orange) is also often better defended by southside, so southside has most of the time 6 cuts, while north only 4. I would move the point 5 orange more to north. The point was moved north and has been moved a little more north in the latest version. In the original picture post you can see that the point is already north of the "approximate center" of the map (WHITE LINE is from VP to VP). That is why the new TP5 was added south of the white line. The new TP5 in the latest version is more north to balance between buildings now. In: Summer patch 2018
