And Volks still have the oh-so-balanced napalm nade that dispatches any MG from the field.

You mean the "oh excuse me sir would you mind moving your MG away from this spot. TY" grenade. Most people let the MG sit there in flames until a model drops then just move it 3 meters and it is safe again to keep suppressing.

Yes, but making a puma usually means you lose in team games.

I was saying the OKW is a joke in team games.

And I did not want to get to far in but:
- Brit AT gun never misses, rapes your puma.
- Centaur rapes your Inf before they can faust.
- Centaur erases your Raketen which misses 2/3 of its shots, if it even gets one off.
- Brit has best MG in game. Its called a bofor. Dirt cheap and damages tanks.

On a narrow 4v4 map one soviet player can erase 2-3 OKW players no problem. 2-maxims, 2-mortars, 2-Zis. A-move across map.

THE STRUGGLE
This map does a good job of balancing buildings without physically mirroring them. The building layout seems to possibly favor the south as far as distance to important buildings. But the north building group seems stronger and would favor the north a little. So there is a lot of subtle balancing going on. Mostly done with sight blockers to the key points around the buildings. Which is my next point: there are enough sight blockers around that the buildings are not strong enough to want to camp in them. They are too easy to flank and do not cover enough terrain to be worth camping in. In 2v2s, the strong cutoffs force most of the game play around the center of the map. It will be very interesting to see how flanks work when more players are on the map.

POSSIBLE SMALL CHANGES:

1. As a player, when I see long hedgerows like these I am not sure if there is barbwire fencing inside of the hedges. So it is not obvious that I can walk thru these lines. Could leave little gaps here and there as visual cues to players that they can cross these hedges. The barb wire exists in other places on the map and is usually easily visible (good job).


2. The mirrored buildings on the edges of the maps are not balanced. I would remove this hedge sight blocker. In 2v2 these buildings probably do not see much play. But in 3v3 they may become important MG strongholds to guard artillery pieces.


3. I think the minimap shows a building here (YELLOW BOX).


As I keep saying, I cant wait to play this in 3v3

Since everyone is very busy I thought I may help out (partly because I cant wait to play this as a 3v3). Sorry for the very late ideas.

THOUGHTS:
A. Also this map will be CLOSE THE POCKET heaven with the heavy cutoffs.
B. Should the VP territory go behind sight blockers for USF lockdown?

1. The base MG coverage could be better. There are blind spots in a few locations.



2. The green cover in the north does not match the south. North truck is in MG range. South it is not. In is probably better?


3. The large north base grove should be removed. Maybe make a hedgerow/small tree hand made grove? This would also give more room for the base area and possibly more MG bunkers.


4. There are small bundle stick piles that for some unknown reason Relic chose to give RED cover. Please delete any you find. Middle west road area and right fuel area have some.


5. Since some one-click win items can sometimes attack into the base area can we make the base areas much larger. Please with sprinkles

Unfortunately, despite saving before attempting my tests, whenever I open the Tile Editor section Worldbuilder instantly crashes on me now. (On this map and only this map)

Not sure how you can fix it by normal means, if the worldbuilder will not open it. I have never had this happen.

WARNING: THIS HORRIFIC HACK MAY NOT WORK
If you have a lot invested and want to try:
I would download a HEX file editor and change the name of the texture in the file. Then try to open it in the worldbuilder again. Make a backup first! Pick a texture name that is equal or smaller than the one you are replacing so you don't overwrite stuff. Equal is best!

EXMAPLE:
in file you may see: grass\grass_02333?333?
The texture is grass\grass_02.
You dont want to overwrite the 333?333?
If the name you choose is smaller, you will want to overwrite the last characters with NULL or ASCII 0. If that doesnt work maybe try space ASCII 32.

The SGB file is what you need to edit. It will be very large, like 10-20 MB. So it may take some time to open in an editor. And the texture name will appear twice about 1/3 of the way in.
