Pathfinders - cheaper, come out slightly earlier, has 2 snipe carbines, but has substantially worse snipe HP requirement (32hp vs 60hp). Can be equipped with BARs. The only OP bs that they had (instant arty) was nerfed few patches ago.
JLI - have better snipe, substantially more durable in infantry firefights (RA comparable to Panzer Grenadier's), especially with vet, have more reliable snipe, have first strike ability (or whatever the ability called, when axis unit gets accuracy bonus coming out from camo), need initial muni investment to operate, has sprint and boobytraps.
If I had to choose between those 2 I would have chosen JLIs, because it is a better combat unit overall, despite it is a more expensive unit out of those 2.
USF Pathfinders are balanced, especially if JLIs are.
hey guy, come back here |
the is the most cancerous strat in terms of scout + indirect. Completely breaks 2v2 and enables people climb the ladder just with those. If i find any cast or replay probably will post in the Scott thread.
ok, now I give you on example of how stupid people is. Cant dealing with one of the oldest USF stat and complain OP. This is Nerfed Scott ( 3 patches ago ).
Actually, Axis side was pretty good until they made some critical mistake.
https://www.coh2.org/topic/108716/usf-pathfinders-need-to-be-balanced |
it is logical, but you fix one thing and another may emerge OP. Balance team buffed Scotts, which was logical thing to do, since USF lacked good mobile indirect, yet this resulted in one of the cheesiest builds I've seen in coh2: zook Pathfinder spam, into Scott spam.
Balance team are working basically for free and still doing better job then Relic used to. Although I wish they were more eager with emergency patches. Full summer of broken Sturmtiger was way too much.
typical combo: scout unit + indirect fire always OP in this game. No matter which side you play.
Funny enough, Nobody complain about path- Old Scott combo until Han and his team rekt everyone in 4v4 tournament.

It's much easier to react to dives in the SU85 than it is the JPIV. Both are slugs but the JPIV is a slug on heroin in reaction ability.
Mobility matters quite a lot here, not saying ROF isn't important, but can the JPIV have at least one significant stat that's superior to allied TDs?
JPIV is a great unit but it's not a hard counter to allied TDs, it's up to the superior player in these types of engagements.
It might have a leg up in certain situations (lanes) but it also has a leg down in others.
It's mediocre against Comets, Churchills, IS2, ISU, Pershing. Comets get spammed as much as Panthers.
the real power of Jpz4 is completely shut down alies TD play, is it enough ?.
main problem of Jadpz4 is its pathfinding and too forcus on AT specialist. People on axis side tend to forget about it because Panther can do more thing with less mirco tax and risk.
to be fair, a Jadpanzer 4 combine with Pz4, panther, brumbar (in team game ) is always better than one type of tank spam. |
I would argue that when the strategy used by the top is able to be applied to all skill ranges and results in the same outcome, THEN it is overly strong.
+1 |
Like Protos said, using rifleman against superiror Axis early is kinda mirco instentive. That why PF spam come to play.
Does PF OPies ? I dont think so, Just because USF hardly win early game as normal build.
back to 17 dpr vs 88 pak. Shooting through Shortblocker is big Win, you can do it with every match. Not to mention supprise elements. |
How you can snipe 222 while it has supperior vision ? It that 5000 rank ? |
panzwerfer / katyushas die to 1 shot! For scotts you need 3 shot.
So you can way easier dive panzwerfer, katys and trade a tank for it.
as same time, Scott didn't have firepower like rocket arty. With 50 range autofire, AT gun can shot it. dont be silly.
|
sure sure, then nerf both pathfinder and Jaeger, they can do sameshit with M8 scott, ISG.
|
and again, it is not assault gun. Please read it names.
If you want it as assault gun. then fine, BUFF it firepower ! |
