I think one of the biggest issues of the forum and posts like these is everyone gets so lost talking about 15 different units and talking points trying to validate or invalidate OP. Threads are typically much more productive when they talk about a few things at a time. Shouldn't it be on the OP to set up a thread for such a discussion? The stats you referenced were drawn out by the community following a number of "nuh uhs" and "cause I say so" s from the OP. When the thread starts with nothing but a list of whine you end up with multiple pages of people talking about 15 units and talking points. A little structure goes a long way In: COH2 Balance

Maxim is undeniably the worst mg in the game. It's not as bad as it was but it is not good. What's more it requires 160mp just to get access to. 2. Soviet do have a number of tools. But your deflecting. Volks are better at countering mgs than cons are, except maybe ppsh cons as the flame nade can often nuke em frontally and the stgs have more power than a nagant on the flank. Oprah is handy but without a follow up all you are doing is getting out of suppression. 3. Of course you have proof to back up this claim right? Because if memory serves me all weapon crews are worse than tommies, by a long shot, and a kuble will win every time against tommies if they are not benifiting from the cover damage reduction. Flank. The Sherman's main gun was pretty much useless when the launcher was mounted. There's stories of guys modifying it in the field to work, but the gun was always much less effective I think using realism to say X should beat Y is dumb, but when it comes to whether or not something was even possible, I wish Relic cared a little more about realism It can still be made basically useless but still there. Less effective but there would be easier to balance than all in on durability give it low traverse speed and rof but something is better than nothing. Hell even JUST a smoke shell would be better than nothing. Spread out its utility because a 140fuel rocket arty damn well needs to be good some how and if anything above a 2cm is going to pen it and kill it in 2 shots it better nuke everything in its barrage area-but that's not feasible by any means... Its kinda like the isu balancing to me. People bitch and moan about the AP shells but it keeps the cost up and the AI down because it has more to flesh out the cost than just AI. if the calliope can bring more than JUST the barrage then it is easier to justify its cost. There are many metrics that CAN be applied if we widen the scope beyond its durability, barrage power and its price because the odds of all 3 being balanced and attractive are slim. In: COH2 Balance

Well that does suck. No way to Frankenstein the existing Sherman animation into it? Maybe lock the turret if that makes it easier? I'm against units that require resources to use for that reason. That's why I'd have its main gun functional so it's not dead weight. Basically I'd have it act like Tulips but an AI barrage instead. Yoi get so many more ways to tweak then and ensure that it's powerlevel and cost effectiveness is where it's wanted. In: COH2 Balance

Calliope is a cool unit regardless of coh1 and its unique. Furthermore it's in the game now so instead of bitching that it is we should find a way to make it work and be unique, imo that way should be a munitions cost as it allows the calliope to be strong as it will impact BAR distribution to leverage. Might see some fighting over a munitions point RNGesus willing. In: COH2 Balance

Then you manage to get around the call in aspect, and have more metrics to balance it on while also keeping the commanders they are in thirsty. Tweaking health and cost alone isn't sufficient to have the unit unique and balanced for both players. In: COH2 Balance
