Thread: OKW starting unit change30 May 2018, 02:07 AM Sturm aren't FREE but they are pretty strong. Swapping them out tho... I don't like it. It would really impact timings and shit if you swap them. They are already counterable by anything but combat engies as long as you don't get jumped so having them come later when there is no chance they can get the jump on anything would really kill the unit I think. Then people will start bitching about LeIG spam again because it'll be the only viable way to clear garrisons. Doesn't have to be removed from the game, just moved off volks. Sturm are the PERFECT unit to have them, being in volks makes them a do it all unit but as someone else said them having the model 24 would make them more burst. No less threatening but different. The ability to deny cover is supremely powerful too powerful to be as plentiful as volks. In: COH2 Balance

Putting the trucks in a very forward position can be very advantageous but gives a high risk of them being destroyed. In this case the vulnerability of the trucks is adequate. This is good. However, the trucks remain exactly as vulnerable (HP wise) when they are set up far behind the front lines on purpose. Especially to artillery in team games. IMO, this is not good. Med and Mech truck can die to as few as two arty barrages and repairing them is extremely dangerous. Therefore I would propose to at least get rid of the repairing penalties for Sturmpioneers when repairing trucks, so the 300MP squad doesn't instantly die to one artillery shell of the next volley. Secondly I would propose to add a percentage of HP to the truck (to a max of regular base buildings) the closer it is to the main base area. This way choosing low risk actually means lower vulnerability. why? why shouldnt the okw get punished for being under arty barrage? no other faction gets to repair their buildings under fire. if the enemy is bombarding you the counter is to do something about it. be aggressive, howitzers exact purpose is to beat up strong points. its working as intended In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Royal artillery28 May 2018, 05:04 AM The big difference between big howitzer and the 25lbs is that one takes up pop cap and delays armour the other is completely included on the path to armour and if you don't use it you lose nothing. But if airburst gets the axe I might agree to firing into the Fow because that shit was cancer. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Royal artillery28 May 2018, 02:37 AM Concentrated barrage used to be able to be called into the fow and it has since been nerfed. It's power was in its ability to for only 100mu wipe a howitzer or key garrison. It much harder to dodge with an immobile howitzer or with an MG that's not near the front. No ability should be called into the fog of war because they reduce the need for scouting. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Advanced Emplacements Commander27 May 2018, 22:58 PM I think my biggest problem with the commander is that it's a bore to play against. Yea build a few mortars then when their cancer hole is destroyed gg woot fucking woot. Glad I waited in que for that. It's bad design promoting bad play utilizing a bad army trait. Build up so the game plays itself and when it's dead odds are you aren't good enough to out up a fight after losing all those resources. In: COH2 Balance
